Yes I agree, it's getting me very frustrated too, we need action now not just words and statements about what the government has said. We now already know what their plans are and the government are having all the say at the moment, and don't seem to be worried or fearing charities or activist groups at all. We need to get the ball back in our court and make them fear us, not just with words, but with threats of court action before they try to push these reforms through parliament. I want Scope and other charities to inform us what their intentions are going forward, as in legal action and court cases, not just oh dear sorry your all suffering, try to keep calm, email your mp!! I'm sick of hearing it, it's actually got me quite angry now ( I'm not usually an angry person) about nothing specific being mentioned about what they can start a legal case on, i.e, which parts could they challenge in court and likely win or get amended?

Anyone see Rachel reeves on gmb getting a grilling. She was asked doses it make you sick to your stomach about putting people and children into poverty. She came out with the same old guff.about getting people into work. So they said so you have no emotion about it. She kept on about the opr and you could see she was panicking.

I agree; emailed 20 MPs heard nothing back.
I've emailed Scope separately asking for James Taylors' email address as I have thoughts regarding indirect discrimination which I would like to pass by him. I haven't received a response to that.
Any Scope moderators who might help with that please?

I share your frustration. It may also be worthwhile seeing if any of the charities receive government funding. They may be stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they lose their funding they will not be able to operate and have to close. Also most disabled charities are there to act as a social space and to give advice, they are not political activists, the few groups that are such as DPAC will be doing all they can to challenge in court if they are able to. They are the group who organised the protests yesterday and Ellen Clifford is part of the group the lady who took the last government to court so they will hopefully be able to do something to slow it up
However I also think Labour has already thought ahead how to stop challenges and will have done all they can to stop any legal challenges you can see already how sneaky they have been by doing this through a parliamentry vote. It leaves little recourse open to be able to challenge it. The courts cannot overule a democratic vote by the house of commons once it is enshrined into law. I don't think even the house of lords can hold it up for very long.

Tbf we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. No matter how very obviously flawed the arguments of the green paper are, this isn’t a case of “right let’s take them to court” and they are certainly not going to either show their hand or rush in.
There will be lawyers poring over all this right now. They only get one shot at this so it’s important they get it right. As frustrating as it is we need to make our voices heard and hope to those with more legal know how to do what they can for us.I’m sure when there’s something to know on this front we will be told.

Obviously other charities will be orgainising their own pushback I know Scope is having a meeting they have invited MP's to attend to share with them how these cuts will impact us.

There is still a nuance here with respect to primary legislation.
The government can absolutely bypass equality law by enshrining the (for example) 4 point eligibility for PIP in legislation. But unless the actual criteria themselves are also included in that law - which won't happen, because the government have said they want to review PIP's criteria after all this is settled - they are open to being challenged.
So while we may not be able to prevent the 4 points being the baseline if it is passed into law, the specific criteria can still be challenged under equality legislation. Greater scrutiny will ultimately fall on how uneven the current criteria are. PIP will be the lynchpin for everything, so I think the way those criteria are laid out post the enactment of any law will be absolutely critical. And we should be ready to fight on that front as well :)6 -

They didn't mention anything to me personally because I had a paper based assessment. They put it in the report due to psychotic symptoms/paranoid psychosis, etc.

What happens if this all becomes law in November 2026 if you have a pip award say til 2029 will they still pay this or will it be immediately reviewed after November 2026?

Agreed whole heartedly, I have no faith in Scope acting (I saw what they wrote on my behalf to my gp, that’s another subject) the silence from charities is shocking

Let me quote what it says on the report.
Advice
I advise that the client meets the criteria for Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity as they are suffering from some specific disease or bodily or mental disablement and by reasons of such disease or disablement, there would be a substantial risk to the mental or physical health of any person if they were found not to have Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity"
Justification of Advice
A few sentences just stating that my evidence lines up with what I have said in my UC50 as well as ongoing mental health problems, paranoid psychosis, ongoing acts of self-harm, previous _ attempts, daily suicidal ideation and intrusive thoughts
I hadn't told them that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder because I hadn't been diagnosed yet. I sent my UC50 off on the basis of Anxiety and Depression. I have updated them though less than a month after that decision was made and they're fine with it as my condition hasn't actually changed.
"Functional LCWRA not indicated therefore LCWRA risk appears supported. The available evidence suggests review in the medium term. Client is having ongoing input and mental health treatment, with treatment, their condition may improve."
My review is in about 15 months from now.
