How sinister that was - and none of us realised it.

We have the broadest shoulders because we have to deal with things the politicians would never understand

yes it’s supposed to be new style esa plus jsa becoming a time limited unemployment insurance. As said from what I’ve read, it doesn’t actually say anything about existing claims for those who’ve been on long term CB ESA Support.

I intend to do the same… I’ll turn up with my walking aid - my husband who is my carer and ask what it is I’m intended to do. I’ll explain though at great length that I am not allowed to handle heavy machinery due to my medication and also the “substantial risk” to myself or others. {removed by moderator} So sorry mods. Remove what you will I’m just so very very upset:!

Didnt realise is a new thread so reposting this here from the green paper thread.

So basically usually changes are introduced via statutory instruments which a court can rule illegal. Keir I expect used his previous experience to make sure these are going to be introduced via parliament primary legislation. This supersedes court decisions. A court will not be able to block changes once they have been ratified in parliament. This is why I keep talking about a small time limit for action to be taken, apparently the equality watchdog is now looking into the green paper, but they dont have very long.

Have you noticed some backbenchers are arsekissers to kier starmer. One I notice regularly on pmq is John Slinger mp for Rugby. Also praising him,in a roundabout way. Standing there reading from his notes going red .

Hi 👋 Liz Kendal did a speech think it was to do with the green paper she said mentioned that people are living alot longer and the welfare system we have at the moment is not sustainable long-term so needs reforming cuts.mmm her mentioning people living alot longer really got me thinking I really do feel this is there aim to put society into poverty due to this peoples health conditions will deteriorate therefore not living as long.

It certainly reads like that but where do they get the figures from for savings after 2028 if they are scrapping the WCA in 2028.

Also can they reassess everyone in that time that they would like to

I am substantial risk .so worried.

See how Reform are spinning this trying to divide disabled people.

His comments on mental health I wish I could say shocked me, this is pretty much the same as the last GE the page they had, Suggesting those with long term sickness or disabled should be left alone if a consultants letter confirms they are not going to get better.

Now this is exactly what they are doorstepping and saying, 3 times now they really want this seat and the Senedd next year.

what Reeves has actually confirmed today no matter what the Global event

cuts will always be her choice, Brexit still has no deal hence the chaos.

We lost the Dublin accords which meant Data sharing on people already refused asylum

in the EU ended and we could return failed applicants to the EU, No new deal was arranged

so the result is 5 million pounds a day funding these people who often are conned by gangs knowing they are out of options "head to UK no longer in EU"

Liverpool MP has stated on Bluesky she will be voting against these cuts. And apparently other Labour MP's are furious the policy that caused the bad row at last weeks meeting is back in. So It was apparently added, Removed then added all in a week. So no panic.

Which again is why various charities and associations should come out and explain all this if its true. People need to know the truth about what can and cannot happen and with no direspect what so ever towards you @worried33 is why the above I mention should come out and say so as surely they know by now? If not explain why they dont know yet, i.e is it more complicated than that?

This was not in their manifesto. They won't get away with it. Who will ever trust liebour again? This will finish them. Millions of people left to live in poverty who voted for them. They won't get away with it.

All sorts of reasons, the above is my opinion, there is a chance I am wrong, I added the link so people can see the substance behind what I posted. Also there is always an element of not wanting to cause unwanted stress, posting doom and gloom, I had to think for a while before making the post and decided in the end to point out the urgency was enough to make me post it. I am not the only one to post it as well, some others have done so across different platforms.
Obviously this will also be why charities and other entities are pushing everyone to contact their MP and more, as they will be aware of this as well.

I never voted for them , in the local elections I am going to vote Independent . I just don't see it getting passed because the impact is going to be enormous , homelessness, hospital admissions , it is unthinkable really the impact this could have . It has to be stopped .

Yep I believe this will happen they are ruthless and they won't contribute to travel expenses my partner was providing fit notes for 9 months and waiting for a assessment he was suicidal and still getting dragged in weekly to jobcentre and put in the intense work search group most of time he was to unwell to go see them so we complained and asked for reasonable adjustments so he had to have wellbeing phonecalls or he would be sanctioned. They just don't care how ill the person is sorry to be negative but unfortunately this is the reality of the jobcentre all they do is pressure even I was in total shock at how my partner was treat knowing he had severe mental health problems

Experienced it myself when they tried to drag me in for means testing recently, the phone call I had the lady was being really passive aggressive, making out all sorts of problems would happen if I didnt go in. Plus them ignoring all my requests for reasonable adjustments leading up to the appointment.
