Sorry folks I can't engage more fully with you all right now, tremor's pretty bad. But thought you'd all be interested in this petition, put out by Richard Burgon MP. The petition calls for tax increases for the mega-rich instead of punishing us. You can find the link here:

    https://www.change.org/p/tax-wealth-don-t-cut-disability-support

Gov's own figures show it won't just push us into abject poverty, there'll be at least 50,000 kids too. Labour promised in the election campaign to end childhood poverty. No-one voted Labour for this. Reeves is being true to Osborne's playbook: austerity++ and casting us as shirkers as she does.

Sign the petition folks. I'll be in touch when I can x

Not one for posting links to GB News but this piece regarding legal challenges to the Welfare cuts / reforms gives some hope - particularly for those suffering from mental health illnesses who will - as things currently stand - be disproportionately affected by changes to PIP and UC Health

WHY aren’t journalists holding them to account more?

Yes there have been some who are speaking out against the cuts and some asking uncomfortable questions to the frontbenchers, but why is no one actually holding them to account and pressing them on it? It’s what journalism is for.

Instead of just letting them dodge questions about how harmful the cuts are with “disabled people MUST WORK” and then not going further into it, why aren’t they interrogating them over it?

I'm pretty sure that we have very highly skilled construction workers , so why the need to hire them from abroad ? give the work to our people after all isn't that what reeves wants .

And that video made nil sense .

My pip review Has been with dwp since September 24, my current award runs out May 25, had 2 texts telling me they still have my pip form and will be progressing the review as soon as they can. My blue badge is due for renewal may 25, I can't apply for that until I get my review decision.

Will my review be under the current guidance as new assessment not starting until 2026? Where do I stand with my blue badge renewal can anyone help?

Is transitioning (managed migration) from legacy benefits to UC classed as a new claimant?

    Answer to my own question:

No, transitioning from legacy benefits to Universal Credit (UC) through managed migration is not considered a new claim, but rather a continuation of support under a new system, requiring a claim to be made within a specified timeframe after receiving a migration notice. Here's a more detailed explanation:

    • Managed Migration:This process involves the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) contacting individuals receiving legacy benefits and informing them that they must claim Universal Credit to continue receiving financial support.
    • Migration Notice:You'll receive a letter, known as a "migration notice," outlining the deadline by which you need to claim Universal Credit to avoid a gap in payments.
    • Not a New Claim: While you need to make a claim for Universal Credit, it's not a new claim in the sense of applying for a completely new benefit. It's a continuation of your support, just under a different system.
    • Transitional Protection:If you are issued a migration notice, you are eligible for transitional protection, which can include a transitional element (a payment added to your Universal Credit entitlement if you receive more from your previous tax credits or benefits) and a transitional capital disregard (allowing you to claim Universal Credit with savings and investments over £16,000 for 12 assessment periods if you received tax credits).
    • Deadline:You must make your Universal Credit claim by the deadline specified in the migration notice to ensure you continue receiving financial support.
    • Natural Migration:If your circumstances change and you would have previously made a new claim for a legacy benefit, you will "naturally" migrate to Universal Credit.

They won't be satisfied until we all starve to death. Won't be long until they start setting up workhouses for the sick and disabled.

Unions need to stop funding Labour or shut the **** up, frankly. By continuing to fund Labour, everything else they do is irrelevant.

I agree, stronger action definitely needs to be taken before it's too late.

Migrating from ESA to UC is not classed as a new claim and you will have TP.

Stronger action should've been taken decades ago. The reason why the UK is in a dire state is largely down to the Brishit left being such a ****-poor, cowardly opposition.

This is great but I think it shows that most people aren’t aware that it will also mean the loss of CA with a higher award of PIP. This alone is a loss of £4258. So add that to the loss of the PIP payment and we are talking about potentially a large part of a persons income! Get the message out there!

They have decided to attack disabled and the poor and they have gone ahead with it. They have showed no indication of changing what they have decided. I suspect many media outlets and many important people have been bought off by the gov not to make any noise. They have done a nasty thing. They have decided to do it deliberately, let them do it. They have rushed the decision.

This subject of welfare is not something you can rush, it is one of the most complicated things in politics. Yet they have decided to do it and cause anxiety and fear to millions. If I know something I know one thing they have no idea what's coming to them. They won't get away with it if they go ahead with it. They are not ready for what this country will become and what they are going to encounter with these reforms. They won't get away with it.

Just seen this “Reform deputy says mental health is modern equivalent of ‘back pain’ - and disabled people are ‘swinging the lead’

Sickening, love to see them live a day in the life of one of us, let alone years

On another note what is CB?
