LCWRA Awarded, but I'm Confused.

I uploaded a fit note 5th October 2023. In my journal it said 'provide new fit note completed' on the 10th Oct 2023. I don't know if that's relevant.
At some point I was sent a WCA booklet. I filled it in and sent it back. Didn't hear anything for months. Then I was told I'd have to fill out another one since they couldn't find the one I already submitted. The 2nd booklet submission led to a phone assessment on Feb 27th 2025.
Then today I was awarded LWCRA.
Unsure about when I was being awarded the LCWRA from, I left a message in the journal asking when it was being awarded from abd if I was entitled to back pay.
The response: "You have been awarded LCWRA from 05/10/2023, we will process the payment shortly. When it's done you'll be notified via your journal."
Does anyone know if I'll receive backpay? Sounds like it?

I forgot to ask when I can expect the first LCWRA payment to be paid too?
Thanks.

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in. No money is paid or subsequently owed for that period.
So as your claim started October 2023, you'll be eligible to have payment backdated go early 2024, IF Fit Notes were provided continuously without any gaps, breaks or ones that were backdated etc. It's the date they were given to UC that's important, not the start date on them.
Once you receive the decision, UC need time to process before LCWRA is added to your monthly payment, and backpay calculated.
Money owed is calculated separately and this usually takes several weeks at least. You'll know this has been done when a letter is added to your Journal confirming the amount they owe you.
You'll then receive the money into your bank account several working days later.
Benefit backpay is excluded from the calculation for your capital for one year.

Thank you.
I have never missed a fit note since Oct 5th 2023, so it looks promising.

UC need time to process before LCWRA is added to my monthly payments, and back pay calculated. Are you talking about the 3 month wait before LCWRA is added to my monthly payments? I've seen people say they were paid back pay separately to that, and within 5 - 9 working days of being awarded LCWRA.

To clarify, does this mean it won't go towards the 6k savings cap? Sorry if that's a silly question.

Yes that's correct, for one year the backpay won't go towards the savings limits for UC.
