Universal credit problem

Hi I was told I need to migrate over to universal credit by the 2nd April. I am severely disabled with agoraphobia so can't leave the house. I have done the online form but it will not recognise my national insurance number! I've known this by heart my whole life and just to check I wasn't going mad I checked it on my benefits letters and the gov.uk UC firm still says it's not recognised!?
Also I thought they only needed a drivers license. I don't have a passport or anything else on the list and they are saying they will call me but I have put email contact only as I can't mentally cope with a call.

Sometimes the online ID check fails.
The only other options are a phone call (sometimes this isn't possible), attending the Job Centre in person or a home visit (might delay your claim due to appointment wait).

It seems to be when there is insufficient information on their system, to be able to verify id via phone.
