@sarah_lea12Due to time pressure to present and balance the budget, they chose to scapegoat disabled and vulnerable people by targeting money that is rightfully deserved. In doing so, they rushed to create a flawed proposal and a questionable consultation process.
This proposal is fundamentally flawed from the outset, and we must oppose it. Shockingly, they haven’t even taken the time or care to conduct a proper impact analysis—one that should consider, among other things, the real scarcity of suitable jobs.
I strongly believe these proposals can be stopped—but only if we all stand together and oppose them by responding directly to the consultation. We cannot afford to stay silent or wait for someone else to speak up. The time to act is now.

I really feel someone needs to start a petition to stop the unlawful abolishment of the Work Capability Assessment (WCA).
What do others think?
I was absolutely fuming when I read this bolded sentence in the Pathways to Work green paper proposal:
“Tackling this broken welfare system makes moral sense. It is common sense too.”
How can stripping vital support from disabled people and carers be considered moral or common sense?
Would love to hear your thoughts - and if others would support a petition on this.1 -
Did anyone know about this inquiry?

according to Starmer we have to change our behaviour and stop acting disabled, he really is a total clown. When the DWP cure me I will change my behaviour and run down the job centre every day. Can’t wait to become a builder or warehouse worker, getting so bored of pretending to have all these disabilities.

it’s funny you saying that as I read in her comments someone else mentioned she shouts , apparently she has hearing problems due to a car accident. I’m particularly deaf so I shout too 😂.
She basically said the dwp has just announced the 4 points affecting pip pip rule now affects pip . She reckons it was just lcwra /health element originally not pip. But yesterday they announced it was also to claim pip the 4 points were needed. Ppl in the comments said it was always 4 points for pip from next year but she said it wasn’t. It doesn’t make sense as without pip we won’t get the health element anyway . I left messages for scope to clarify but they haven’t. Nonbelieves replied and said she wrong too.

scope please can you watch the justice journals video from yesterday regarding the 4 points for pip and clarify if it’s true please as it doesn’t make sense to me . Thank you 🙏

Wasn’t the 4 point rule always for PIP though? How would it affect LCWRA (beyond people without Daily Living PIP being ineligible for LCWRA under the new rules)

I managed to get a ticket to one of the in-person consultation events, which should be interesting

I don’t doubt he’ll get them voted through but hopefully the courts or the ECHR will protect us .

Great, @evelyncourtney! I tried last night, but the tickets were sold out, so I had to send them a message.

for some reason it will not let me put the link, it does then it doesn't lol sorry if it messes up
Think this was what she was referencing but she gave the I think the 7th as when it was released but this was published on the 3rd. This is just my opinion but a lot of folk around the internet seem to think the 4 point rule would be a precursor to getting LWRC only, believing PIP itself would still just require 8 points to get an award. I am not sure if this is where the confusion comes from, unless anyone else can find a newly released document as in the 7th of April.

hi the link doesn’t work unfortunately. I think she’s said ( brain fog so could be wrong) that the 4 points was for lcwra/health element originally but they’ve now changed it to include pip . But my understanding is you won’t be able to claim lcwra/ health element without pip anyway. So you need to get the 4 points get pip which then gets you health element, so you won’t get one without the other . That’s what I thought .

thank you . Do you mean to get pip standard will be a 4 points descriptor plus a further 8!points making 12 now ? I thought it was staying 8 for standard but including a 4? Point question
