I’ve watched a few of his videos and he seems legit . I read the same in the papers this morning, apparently it’s information from a book that’s been written about him .

I hope it’s true! I’ve never personally trusted journalists without solid evidence to back it up, so if something positive comes from it for our joint cause, I will always welcome it. Best wishes.

It saddens me to see one marginalised group fall for the lies told about another marginalised group.

For some reason I couldn’t respond to the post I read but people who come to the UK seeking refugee or asylum seeker status are not ‘illegal immigrants’, they are stuck in limbo whilst they wait for their claims to be processed. Under the previous government processing claims slowed right down, hence the backlog and having to put claimants in hotels , though the private accommodation providers are making a pretty penny off government contracts.

Also remember that refugees and asylum seekers are people who have been forced to leave home due to war and persecution, and many of them are in fact disabled/sick themselves. People accuse us of lying to be able to claim ‘benefits’ that we know are not enough to live on, why are we believing others who wish to spread hatred about another group of vulnerable people?

This is how we’re persuaded to vote against our own self interest to ‘stick it’ to some vulnerable group but then when we become vulnerable ourselves we find theres barely any support available because if you allow the government to go after one marginalised/vulnerable group, they’ll go after every marginalised/vulnerable group.

When I lived in London I relied a lot on the buses, and some of the routes that were my lifelines back then don't exist now. They were rerouted to favour tourists over residents, or just cut back and removed completely.

I could list a whole slew of routes I used to rely on that are either now gone or rerouted at the point they were useful to me.

On the subject of asylum seekers, in my job I encounter them relatively often. Usually with letters saying, congratulations on being granted asylum, you now have x number of days to quit your accommodation. So basically being granted asylum means being made automatically homeless. The whole system is broken but it is not the fault of these people. The ones I've met have been polite, respectful and genuinely just wanting to sort their lives out. Many are at rock bottom. I will never hold them responsible for what is happening to us - like us, they are marginalised, unseen and misrepresented, but still human beings.

Technically I've never been assessed for lcwra as I moved to UC voluntarily in mid 2022 from ESA support group

you automatically qualify for the lcwra group if you move over from support group .....

Last time I was reassessed was Nov 2019 for ESA support group , was supposed to be assessed again November 2021

So I'm coming up in November for 6 years since reassessment and 4 years overdue

The DWP did start reassessments in 2021 but they were for lcw and changes of circumstances only a handful have only

As I understand it and still do the ESA50 and UC50 are identical including descriptors for lcw and lcwra and I've seen no mention of anything changing to this until 2028

New and existing claims for pip will be affected from November 2026 onwards but lcwra will be reassessed in the same way it is now with the same descriptors as now till 2028

Obviously who knows what's going to happen by then bit I think that's how it stands at the moment
