Early puberty 3 year old

I would love to hear from anyone who has any experience or advice for me. My beautiful 3 year old daughter is developing pubic hair, under arm hair and leg hair. She also has body odour like a teenager. She also sweats profusely when she is asleep. At first I put the hair down to her being mixed race, therefore having dark hair and the b.o. down to it being very difficult to lift her arms to wash her properly. But when I noticed the under arm hair this morning I cannot deny the very real possibility that my baby is going through puberty. I have been reading that it is common for girls with CP to start puberty very early even as early as 1 years old. I am going to call her paediatrician first thing in the morning but I would love some advice from anyone even if it is just the name of a decent mild deodorant to use on her. What I am worried about the most is that I have read that if a child goes through puberty very early then they could go through the menopause late teens or early twenties, which could result in osteoarthritis and brittle bones. My daughter already has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and extensive problems and pain associated with it, she can't be tortured any more. Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx

Hi @Zeezee nice to see you on here again, we bumped into each other in real life a while ago.

Oh bless her, that's all she needs on top of her other needs. The Paediatrician will hopefully be able to help, maybe referring to endocrinology - the endocrinologist at RMCH that we see (about something else)  is lovely.

I looked after a little girl who started her puberty very early but they stopped it progressing without any problems.

Would a roll on deodrant be the best way to start as it's not as sudden or cold and won't go in her eyes x

Hi @Zeezee are you getting any support from your GP or specialist? It sounds like something you need to speak to a prfoessional about.

    Hi bluefrog,
I am sorry I went to text you as I left stckprt that day and realised I hadn't saved your number, so please don't think I was being ignorant, I then went through a real deep depression and isolated myself for a few months. Feeling much better now though.
Thanks for your comments, I have called Zee's Paediatrician today so hopefully I will get a call back from her tomorrow, she is usually very good.
How is your little girl doing? Hope everything is good with her.
I remember you writing a few months ago about a sleep system your little one had just got, how is that working out? Do you think it is beneficial and more to the point does she like it? Zee has just had her assessment for one cos her x-ray of hips came back that her hips are 30 per cent dislocated and getting worse. She started on Baclofen recently and that is a game changer for her. She actually sleeps now, eats well and have been able to stop her movicol. I didn't realise just how much pain she was in all the time. Bless her
Is there a DM feature on this site. I am still rubbish with technology lol.

Hi @Zeezee glad you're ok now. Don't worry I know what it's like trying keep in touch with people on top of everything else :)

The sleep system is good. It took a while for her to get used to it, but I am very glad we continued. She sleeps really straight on her back for several hours now which is great for her posture. She has very low tone so the therapies may be different - but I'd definitely recommend trying it. We have The Simple Stuff Works one.

Not found a way of sending DM on here yet. Hope you get on ok with the Paediatrician let us know how it goes x

Hi Blue frog, We finally got to the paediatrician and she is referring zee to the paed endocrinologist but said that its quite common in kids with cp especially girls and they can stop it quite easily. More meds for little one but not having her doubley incontinent and periods also body image issues wearing a bra at 6 yr old. On a brighter note zee is loving school so much she is happier all the time now and they put in her care plan under Strengths that she is really good at reading and has a fantastic memory. So no more sympathetic looks from people who I can see thinking" poor woman can't accept her child is disabled so is imagining she is exceptionally intelligent" I didn't tell anyone she could read at just over two and even when she turned three no one believed me, but its in writing now. So sorry every one for bragging but I am so proud of my little princess and it's amazing that with all the missed milestones that this one is passed years ahead of time and I want to shout it from the roof

Hi @Zeezee that all sounds brilliant!

We see a lovely endocrinologist at RMCH - I'm sure they will be able to help Zee with her hormones, and it's great you noticed quickly as it's probably easier to help if they start early. She is so cute, and just needs to have fun being a little girl not worrying about all that just yet!

Its awesome about school,  I know a few kids with severe physical disabilities and people do assume they have a learning disability too.  It must be brilliant knowing school are on your side and well done for all the fighting you had to do to get there and be believed.  How is she getting on with the other children?

In some ways our situation is a bit easier, M definitely has a significant learning disability and she fits nicely into one of the little boxes education like to put kids in! She is at a fantastic special school, which is perfect and she loves every minute  <3
