So slippery aren’t they . I should have got a 4 last time but the assessors don’t award them . My assessor had knowledge of my conditions and had my medical notes so knew my conditions were not curable yet she gave me a 2 year award. Even dwp increased it to 3 years . There doesn’t seem to be any rules they have to stick to . It’s just luck on the day . Timms better make the most of his time in government, it’ll be his last .

Don't worry about what you think you should have gotten, as there's no assurance whatsoever that claimants get their same points upon reassessment. I've read a few cases where people were downgraded from their 4 points. There's even a recent case on this forum, where the claimant was previously awarded 4 points in tribunal but then got downgraded to zero upon reassessment.
You're spot on, they don't have any rules they've to stick to. It all depends on the assessor and the decision maker who to me shouldn't involve in these assessments in the first place, as they've zero medical expertise.
I'm thinking of claiming PIP but hate these assessments and can't afford stressing me out from calling them to ask them for a PIP form all the way to receiving a decision, which can even take a year killing off easily my summer.

It’s terrible that they can remove points during reassessment. Mist conditions don’t improve, in fact they get worse with age .
I definitely think there should be set rules as it all seems to be down to luck . Even the 10 year light touch , I’ve asked so many people how they’re awarded yet no one really knows.
I know people that should claim pip but are too afraid of the system and it’s shocking that something that’s there to help people is made so difficult it puts people off from applying for it.0 -
The last two reassessment I had they reduced my mobility points and I had them reinstated st mandatory reconsideration.

I hope everyone is as well as can be, I have taken a step back as this is getting very depressing, especially as the government have started announcing spending in other areas including other DWP things, which tells us even more so this is ideological.
I do have a glimmer of hope of all those MPs still fighting for us though as well as the other organisations.0 -
I have always assumed if I work it would have to be a full time job, but given PIP isnt means tested or work related, I now am starting to understand more how it can help people work, as on enhanced daily living, its possibly enough to allow a part time work combined with PIP to pay the bills. But on the gateway stuff you are right, I get a huge discount on my water bill because of PIP. I think my region has perhaps the best water social tariff in the country.
I also fully agree on the points you making that we should presume things about others, and should it be spent on specific things. Its purpose is to help disabled people with the challenges they face in daily life. Which can mean a variety of things.0 -
That's right. 😔 In addition to those real world reasons for claiming PIP there is also the fact that the increase in claiments has also been manufactured by the government itself in implementing previous benefit cuts.
Anyone with some basic common sense would realise that deprivation only increases the chance or increase of health conditions.
Hey, but the Labour leadership would hate to stop deluding themselves in their comfortable Westminster bubble with the constant presence of Morgan McSweeny, whispering neoliberalistic ideology in their ears. 😒
There is also the refusal to see that Long Covid really helped to push up the number of people who have become disabled.
Dismissing inconvenient facts does not make them go away.
Saying that PIP is an out of work benefit is another excuse to smear us so they can take the PIP off us. What is wrong anyway with many claiments being given a benefit that helps people with the cost of their support, whether they are capable of work or not? 🤔
People should not be only defined by their ability to be capable of work and it is not the most important thing in life either. The actual person is, with their values and talents, plus with what they can contribute to the well-being of others is much more important.
The latest figures for unemployment from the ONS are 1.61 million people, up 62,000 in the last quarter. It's been rising quite a bit for some time now.
How on earth are they going to employ us if 1.6 million fit and healthy jobseekers can't find a job. It would be a cold day in hell, to be blunt when any employer would take us on!! 😡
Have a look on X at Liz Kendalls @leicesterliz. It is full of posts about disabled people entering the work place but they all have one thing in common, they are all young!
What a great advantage that is 🙄 to all us older people who are going to be disproportionately affected by these cuts, with it being another reason why no employer will ever employ us!! 😤

Could you check and confirm REFORMS policy for benefits - I think that you will find them similar (if not worse) than Labours

I hope that we are giving them at least some of the misery and sleepless nights that we've been having. 😁
It will only ever be small part of what we are going through though because the worst they will lose is status and their ministerial pay grade.
It may seem devastating to them but they will NEVER know what it's like to have the prospect of a future of destitution and homelessness as we have. 😡
They deserve to know at least some of our misery though. Even if this was all resolved tomorrow, we will never be able to be able to see life in the same way again after going through this horror! 😱

The ones following starmer don’t realise once they’ve ruined the country he’ll be off elsewhere and those left behind won’t get a second thought .

I felt a bit sorry for my parady of Loathsome LIz the other day (not) so I did one for Keir Starver too. I do actually post these online on X etc to give a serious message too about our plight so it's not just about making fun out of them (but it helps). I know a lot of mp's have social media accounts so may see them and share them, and realise what a laughing stock we know they are!!

Here's the link to their Open Letter. It's the best one I've seen yet.
Also have a look at the screenshots I posted for The Guardian yesterday (if you haven't seen them already) of two articles that tell you a lot more about #TakingThePIP.

Farage had a press conference yesterday outlining his manifesto further. No mention of disability cuts and no questions asked by the media regarding the planned cuts. Not sure where he’s standing regarding these cuts and I’m not sure anyone knows.
My feeling is that he is unsure on wether to back these planned cuts as currently outlined or not because he isn’t sure how they will go down with the electorate.I’d press him too.
He has to be made to take a clear stance regarding this issue.

was thinking about Great Expectations and Reeves could be Miss Favisham and Kendall Estella, messing with poor PIP

With the damage he's done to us and to so many others in this country with both left and right wing voters hating him he will not only have to go elsewhere, I think that he will have to permanently leave the country because I don't think that he will be safe if he stays here as he is so throughly detested.
He's already had his former home, his private home and a vehicle connected to him set on fire recently, in London.
I shouldn't think that he's feeling all that comfortable, to be honest!
You're quite right about him not giving a damn about all the people whose lives he's ruined or going to ruin.
That's going to be the main problem for him. No one is going to thank him for making their lives so difficult!!

Well he seems to be settling himself up in the EU so maybe they’ll want him but he’s so useless I doubt it .
As for the fires they’re a bit suspicious and maybe more in the personal side as is talked about away from the msm . Will we ever know the truth probably not .2 -
All back in history it's always been people that change laws make things happen I think alot of history is made up what amazes me is buildings from centuries ago massive wonderful architecture how could they been built without any form of equipment all built by man know we bang the walls and there hollow we really have gone back we have not been allowed to grow we are living an artificial life never reaching our potential all by design when you start questioning everything it's almost a loss and understanding we where never free and that applies for everyone people are walking money for the government we are surplus to requirements all these Americans building bunkers storing food learning to hunt so have the right idea anyway as usual I go from one topic to another but yes that's so intriguing

Politicians and political parties all over the world have been clowns for the behind-the-scenes owners of circuses. Sometimes clowns put their former employers in jail (Zelensky-Kolomoisky), but clowns themselves are nothing. And if a new party appears (Farage, for example), it means that someone with real power needs it. It is very expensive to maintain a political party.
And if you noticed, there is no room for ordinary people in this equation.
