I'm currently crafting a blanket that is Netflix Witcher themed. I'm loving the process do far and it's good for my mental health and for my hands. Emily ❤️

What is the gadget called? Is this crochet or knitting?

@WhatThe it's a knitting loom ❤️

Thank you, Emily! Great idea.
I did learn both and I'm sure I would enjoy being creative again. Definitely good for MH. I kind of meditate when I do puzzles.

@WhatThe when first got the Knitting I started out with DK stands double knit yarn and I hate it I much prefer chunky. It's more durable especially for blankets. ❤️

I can't be trusted with anything white 😆 I am too clumsy

Have you got a particular favourite TV show that you like you could use the colours from the TV show to recreate that in a blanket for yourself. ☺️❤️

Awesome! I've played the game, but never watched the Netflix series.
I also find keeping my hands busy helps loads with mental health. For me it's Lego Technic models.

@Wheeled_Weapon I've read the books and watched the Netflix series so im kind of doing this in honour of Henry Cavill. ☺️

Emily, I think I know why I stopped. My mum and sister would each produce a sweater in the time I knitted a sleeve 🤣
I couldn't easily follow a pattern or learn a new stitch (or read music or instructions) but I did enjoy the process and sense of achievement.

@WhatThe Morning I've been practicing my chain stitches again
What I'm doing is pulling the yarn over the hook and then using my small pink loom hook to guide the yarn over onto the chain.
What do you think? ❤️

Good morning Emily 😊
✔️ is what I think of your creative work and crochet practice!
I'm sure I could pick this up again - a bit like learning to ride a bike and taking it up years later. My daughter knits when she has the time and peace of mind to be able to relax. Sadly, she's dealing with a second unfair dismissal due to 'reasonable adjustments' not put in place for her.
You have inspired me to get crafty again and I will raid her collection of needles and yarn when she's in a better place to have me raid her collection 😁

Oh I'm a big Witcher fan, so I can't wait to see the finished product. 😁

@WhatThe im glad I've inspired you right at this moment im learning to chains taking it steady. I'll be honest and say I was terrified i couldn't do crotchet because of my right hand. But now im the road to learning I can definitely keep going 😄

Emily, you have the right attitude.
It's about applying oneself which for many is easier than it sounds (not easy for me) then keeping it up AND knowing when to stop 😄
Making time to do something you enjoy and learn new skills is self-care isn't it?
I will start this week with pom poms as I don't need tools, just a small circle of cardboard with a centre hole and scraps of wool which I have.
Edit: I need a needle of course. For anyone else wanting to make a pom pom, sorry I can't upload a diagram but string, thread or ribbons can also be used. Quick and easy to make.
Edited edit: a needle isn't essential just fingers!

I tried doing a single crotchet but it do I ma manage it did I boat? I'm sticking to chains for now then work out how single crotchet works after. ❤️
