'E-bikes and e-scooters are far more of a menace to pedestrians than mobility vehicles!' Without reference to research, this is just personal opinion. Also, you ignore ISO 9999.

In your case, braking at high speed is very problematic.

Not everyone has eyes in the back of their head. Also, a person may be wearing headphones or be hard of hearing.

I think with such an attitude towards others, sooner or later you will find such an 'adventure', after which there will be no more adventures.

I give way to oncoming pedestrians and have full insurance. I imagine the latter will have to go if kendall gets most of her wishes granted.

This is a huge problem on our side of town.I'm not a wheelchair user,but I'm sick of having to walk in the road because of idiots who think it's okay to block the pavement with their vehicle.
I'm looking at a lorry on the pavement behind our house and it's been there since yesterday afternoon,I'd put money on it still being there on Monday morning.

I'm also sick to death of thoughtless drivers bad parking, causing me to break the law by going into the road to find another accessible dropped kerb. Like this **** on a very busy junction!!!
Three more pet hates, e-scooters that whizz towards & pass fast from behind, some three up, also young kids. 🤐 One young lady zoomed towards me, looking down at her phone, I stopped & shouted & eventually she realised & crashed to not hit me, a busy road beside us. 🤯 Food delivery electric bikes, that are very fast & don't give a damn about pedestrians or wheelchairs/disability scooters. 😡 Then there are the dumb idiots on their smart phones, eyes down expecting everyone to avoid them. I don't, I continue & stop just before they get to me. 😈 It would be okay if it was one or two, but it isn't. That goes for the other hates above.
As for big 6/8mph scooters, the pilots should be very wary of going full speed on pavements. My uncle's sister, very fit for her age, walked out of a shop & was immediately bowled over by an old bloke powering along the path. He didn't stop or shout out an apology. She died from he injuries. 🤬

My Breeze S4 does 8mph, but I am very particular about sticking to 4mph on the pavements. These characters you mention give us all a bad name.

It amazes me that the government hasn't yet made mobility scooter manufacturers fit collision warning and automatic braking systems. The components for these currently cost 2p a bucket.

I shall do this next time I walk home and see seven vehicles parked on a two hundred yard stretch of pavement.
It makes my blood boil.

I do wonder why I bother tbh. I'm crawling along at 4 mph, and some twerp on a escooter tears past me at 15 -2-20 mph, jumping on and off the pavement.

If you can walk at least a little, try riding a Lime e-scooter, for example.

Not possible and where could I ride it? The pavement is no place for tearing along.
I only use both my mobikity scooters because I have MD. I can't understand able bodied people not using their legs.

Sensible & thoughtful, @Ranald & really, to be expected from all users. I have a powerchair so 4mph, but I slow down & try & move away from entrances, just in case someone should appear.
As for e-scooters (saw your comment above), they really should not be on pavements at all, they are too fast & dangerous. Especially when they have more than one on them or shopping (I've been smacked in the shoulder from behind as one whizzed by with shopping bags on the handlebar 🤬) or on their phone.

If you mean auto braking like those on supermarket scooters, it would be safer, as you'd never get anywhere, they are awful!

I want a Sunrise Medical Quickie class 3 powerchair. They are very expensive however.

Snap! That is what I would eventually like to get, but the price is eyewatering & the same as a small car. I often look for secondhand, but they are still out of reach, for now.
