@Socrates63 thanks for your reply I did think that.

Also I hear that they are a different department to ESA and they also contact them regarding health and reasons on ESA..We worry about stuff because of our health issues but generally is straight forward.

    Socrates the great Brazilian midfielder.

    Hi tumilty

Shucks, I don't like to brag. That was many moons ago. I also been know to dabble in the old philosophy as a sideline ๐Ÿ˜‰. re:about your post concerning health etc, yes they do go into it with your local council. assuming you're in council or housing association. suppose they have to, to cover themselves. understandable I suppose. Take care

    socrates.

He had a glaswegian accent you know! Although probably not when speaking his native Portuguese (Studied medicine in Glasgow).

    Hi again tumilty,

I can't for the life of me work out the punchline on that one. I've been on it for hours. no, sorry uve beaten me. put me out of my misery. What a bizarre picture I've got in my mind, the great socrates on the team bench smoking a ****(terribly hooked on the fags by the way) talking team tactics in a Scottish accent. Funnily enough he almost caused a coup in his own country by threatening to bring to team(national) out on strike over pay. He was a very deep thinker of politics. Hence his nickname socrates. one of the coolest of footballers ever to play the game. in my humble opinion of course. funnily enough I almost used my old username but thought better of it. Just thought I'd share that. ๐Ÿค”

Can't think why a word been blotted out in my txt. I used that same word in next sentence but it wasn't blotted out. no idea why. wasn't offensive or rude. how strange.

I believe in the plural, it sneaked through, but the singular noun was caught. I was puzzled using very same noun, then realised that calling a cigarette by that name, it could be misconstrued as something else, a pejorative.

I heard the great former Scotland and Aberdeen central defender, Willie Miller (one time best penalty box defender in the world said Alex Ferguson) describing a conversation with Socrates after an international match.

They were both sitting together drinking (Miller on soft drinks, Socrates drinking beer and chain smoking), having been picked for a random urine test.

He joked to the audience that anyone entering that room, they would have struggled to pick out the Glaswegian!

I know it was innocently used, as it was when I attempted to use it. No harm done i don't suppose!

Excellent. Typical Scottish humour. Typical of fergie as well. Just can't imagine socrates with accent. Like something out of monty python.

We had better not take over this thread, but FYI, Willie Miller won the European Cup Winners Cup 1982-3, and UEFA Super Cup in 1983 as captain of Aberdeen, with Alex Ferguson as manager. Those days won't come again, elite football is just the play thing of the super rich and oil states now.

I do remember Miller. I also remember fergie at Aberdeen. Don't quote me on this, but in his 1st week there he almost got sacked for telling the long standing tea lady where to go, if you get my drift. Anyways true what you say bout yesteryears. They'll never come back. Too much money. See you soon.

@Socrates63 and @Ranald yes they were good days for football, that Brazil team of 82.and when teams like Aberdeen, Dundee Utd, Forest and Villa could win things. Socrates typical medical student, drinks and smokes, philosopher too.

Sorry @luvpink my fault for bringing it up. ๐Ÿ™

Maybe I'm just being overwhelmed with information or maybe just overwhelmed with stress and I can't think straight at all right now, but I'm confused again about what is going to happen to current claimants of LCWRA with no PIP.

Can anyone help clear my head on this a bit?
