A man who is living with cerebral palsy and has become a stay-at-home dad for his 11-month-old son has taken to social media to share "laughs, hacks and life".

Danny Berney, 32, a former nursery worker from Leamington Spa, has been posting videos on TikTok that rack up hundreds of views.

They explain how he has cerebral palsy on his left-hand side and show the adaptations he uses at home, such as carrying his son downstairs.

He told BBC CWR how he went through "a lot of mental struggles" before he and his partner agreed that they would "see if being a stay-at-home dad will work".

Mr Berney said views that men earned money and women stayed at home were still common.

"Society nowadays is kind of like the man has to earn the money and stuff and the woman stays at home. Why can't you reverse the roles?

"It's exactly the same as my job. Why can't there be people who are male who work in the nursery sector? Why does it always have to be females? Why can't we switch that around?"

Mr Berney also has a sports channel on Instagram and uses that platform to help people make adaptations to stay active.

He said he uses his latest social media account, where he posts as "The CPDad", to show other parents how they can make adaptations.

He explained how he showed parts of his life that he struggles with - tasks such as dressing his son, changing his nappy and opening the stair gates.

Mr Berney said: "It's going in the right way and I'm really enjoying it – I'm really glad I've made the plunge".
