Message on Journal on UC asking if I’d like to discuss help & support!

Hello All, I’ve just received a journal message today from U.C (only migrated over in April) to ask if I’d like a chat about training, plans & how I felt about things or similar nonsense. Said it wouldn’t affect my money or lead to a WCA.
I am 64, in very poor health with multiple chronic illnesses, an ongoing disability, Myeloma & 3 years until my state pension

What is the point of this, except to aggravate you & this is why they wanted us all on U.C rather than ESA?

That's a generic message many are getting on their journals from work coaches, so I'd not worry about things too much.

I've got one of these now as well. I don't have a work coach. Fairly sure they're just sending them to everyone on LCWRA now.

I was expecting it and don't feel any obligation to reply.

That message is an entirely optional template they send to everyone. You don't need to respond unless you want their help.

Plus as you're so close to retirement, you may as well just hold out for your pension (even if you weren't disabled).

I also recieved a message in my journal, asking me if i would like to have a chat with them, i did reply by saying that my condition had not changed and would only get worse, the message they sent i did find insulting as they are not medicaly trained, so they are not aware of how much stress or pain they could be putting you in. after working all my life up until i became ill, i feel as tho the disabled and pensioners are a burden to the government, but they want to remember that we paid for our elders retirement and for the disabled. and we are entitled to the same even tho you put an extra two years on our working lives, but what you havent calculated is that not all of us went to univeristy so we started work five years earlier, not to mention humans were the robots, fifty plus years ago.

did anyone else receive an accessible needs prior to this I thought it might be for a review n still think they intend to review me. I only got out of hospital on the 20th April and require nurses coming in twice a day because heavy output which has become worse since my parastomal hernia 3 weeks ago

HI @wilma68 and welcome to the community. The message that is discussed above is a generic message and can be ignored. Asking for your accessibility needs around the same time may just be a coincidence. Sorry to hear you've been in hospital. Are you getting enough support?

My work coach at the Jobcentre has asked me to provide a weekly one or two line account of my health conditions. Please note that I have a Fit Note that lasts to the beginning of October. Is this normal practice and doesn't it invade my privacy? Can I refuse politely? He made it as an informal request rather than as one of my commitments? I'm currently awaiting my WCA assessment which seems to be taking months.

Hi @Stewan20 and welcome to the community. This isn't something I have come across before as usually you would provide the fit note and that would be sufficient. You are only required to follow what is in your claimant commitment. Did you ask them why they wanted to do this?
