Angela Rayner

She will only lose her MINISTERIAL benefits
She will continue to receive her normal MP salary (£93,904 + expenses) - so will not be broke !
MPs also receive expenses to cover the costs of running an office, employing staff, having somewhere to live in London or their constituency, and travelling between Parliament and their constituency.

True.

The comment in question @Wibbles was "probley sent off with good package"
Which she won't be.

Unless she resigns as an MP as well……?

If she resigns as an MP as well, she'd still not be entitled to anything extra. She'd be resigning, not being laid off.

As a lifelong card carrying Socialist i have always liked Angela - and i still like her.

25% severance pay.

I don't think that her role as an MP is tenable - I am guessing that in the next 24 hours, she will resign completely….

I've only seen The Express report on that currently @Wibbles so I'm not taking it as gospel. 😆
Though I have read about a "Winding-up Payment, equivalent to four months' salary, is given to all departing MPs to help with administrative tasks and closing their offices."
So if they mean this, she won't be keeping the money. And it looks like this is only for MPs who leave office.
It was also doubled by an independent body at the last election.0 -
She was not given incorrect advice, as the managing director of the conveyancing firm that handled the purchase of her flat, says that, “The stamp duty for the Hove flat was calculated using HMRC’s own online calculator, based on the figures and the information provided by Ms Rayner. We did not and never have given tax or trust advice."
Therefore, this firm might take her to court for slander, instead.

Why don't you also go remove it from YouTube, as it was simply a video posted by George Galloway? Ridiculous.

He was using uncivil language, thus it was against the house rules @Passerby so the post had to be removed. It you have an issue with any of the moderation, you are welcome to email the team at community@scope.org.uk

When Nadhim Zahawi’s fate was hanging in the balance after a scandal over unpaid taxes, , Angela Rayner was one of the first to pile on the political pressure.
She said:
“Nadhim Zahawi’s story about his tax affairs doesn’t add up. After months of denials, the truth emerges. His position is untenable. Rishi Sunak must dismiss him from his cabinet.”

Did you not notice I said IF she was given incorrect advice?

Sorry. I've edited my comment accordingly.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Rachel Reeves goes next …..

That implies that British MPs are two faced ?
I am shocked - I thought that all MPs were beyond reproach and did absolutely everything by the book.

Not only British MPs but almost all politicians across the word. They don't enter politics for anyone but themselves, in the first place. Jeremy Paxman has written an entire book about this category of politicians - "The political Animal".
