    The press release says:

The offer is voluntary and will be made to LCWRA claimants via their Universal Credit journal with tailored appointments taking place monthly.

Appointments taking place monthly if someone accepts the offer, not monthly Journal messages offering help is my interpretation.

Hey folks, could we please keep this chat UC related? I'm happy to split off your convo about PIP if you still needed to ask more questions though?

She wasn't so much sacked as moved to a different role @Catherine21 it happens quite a lot in politics. She's now the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology.

If you're in LCWRA and you accept the offer of help and go to the job centre it could go against you at your next WCA and you may be put into LCW, as LCWRA is supposed to mean you're not well enough to be going to the job centre and discussing work or what things you could do to move you closer to being able to work.

I would be very, very careful.

If the DWP starts contacting me once a month with these offers every time I get a text telling me to go onto my UC account is going to really, really scare me because for all I know it could be to tell me that I've got a WCA. I'm going to be feeling like I'm constantly living on a knife edge, this is just going to make my mental health worse.

It's bizarre that they're doing this as LCWRA means exactly what it means which is you're not well enough to go to the JC for work related activity, what next ballet classes for people in wheelchairs?

    Hi Catherine 21,

If it scares you that much you can do the thing online, I suggested it only because it's simpler in the long term and over more quickly on the day. I know some folk aren't yery good on the phone. Iim exactly the same. I think I sound foolish on the phone. Who cares when it's all done? Maybe you could have a good friend who would sit with you on the day for day. Don't forget if you ring cab they arrange for someone to listen in on the convocation you have with the uc people and if you make any mistakes they will intervene for you and help. hope this helps. Yours sincerely. Socrates

If you live in social housing, they will contact your landlord for confirmation of the rent, which should include a service charge breakdown to help UC know which ones are eligible.

There is a dummy form so you can see which questions they ask.

Council Tax Reduction is decided on at a local level and administered by your local authority. Some areas do treat UC differently to legacy benefits and some people have seen an increase in the amount of CT they need to pay. It's very hard to advise on individual cases from here.

Citizens Advice have a Help to Claim service, they can support you before during and after your claim.

This is a national service run by phone and webchat.

    Re:Catherine 21,

Oh I see. I thought you meant it might be good for some people on pip who are worried about how it's going to affect them.

Glad you got it sorted. Ti's rather nerve racking I know. The later phone calls I see you asking about aren't that much to worry about. If you told them about hb or charges, it will probably be about that. Was with me.Nothing really else to worry about, you done the hard work. Be pleased for yourself. Get planning for your Xmas now! 😌

Glad you got it done, the dummy form Kimi posted was very good for me to plan what to write.. Think I did the form in 10 mins. Phone call and jobcentre appointment was far easier and layed back than I thought was going to be but that's anxiety for ya

I was told that it takes 5 weeks so yer get transitional payment from esa then it's 3 weeks until first UC payment. I got another transitional payment couple days before first UC payment that I shouldn't have that was deducted from first payment.

I think your all done now, I actually like the way it's done online, can send messages, see your payment statements. Far better than receiving them dreaded brown envelopes through post. Keep logging in.
