I don't want it, how will it stop illegal migration? A lot of them discard the IDs in the channel. Its will be targeting us innocent people. Problem is I fear that to get benefits we will have to. Also how will it be safe from hackers, ? . Also if you're phone is stolen , lot of elderly people and those will learning disabilities won't be able it.

For one, I will not be taking up the offer of an ID card compulsory or not.
Currently everyone in this country, except for some other relevant laws, has no legal requirement to identify themselves to anyone including the police.
To be honest I can see where Starmer is coming from - he wants everyone to be identified by any level of authority. The next thing he might decide that everyone not only has to identify themselves but also give account of what they are doing and why.
I already have four forms of ID - a military ID card, a passport, a bus pass and a driving licence.

You kept your MOD90?

Politicians say alot of things, it hasn't even been proposed yet. How many did they send to Rwanda again? Not counting the handful of volunteers!

I heard that banking will be linked,so they can see what and where you shop

There is a government petition against ID , 167.000 so far

Hi . My time in the forces it was not possible. Consequently, the MOD are/have been issuing a Veteran Card which is accepted as (a) proof of service and (b) can be used as an ID card.
Totally different to Starmer's idea is carrying it is not compulsory - I love my freedom too much!

Banking will just be the start of a surveillance state. The government already have access to how much you spend and on what via the Tesco Clubcard & Sainsburys Nectar card.
