Weird this popping up right now! Five minutes ago i was thinking 'who can i contact for help? What options do i have?'
So...im a selfemployed single mum of a 7 yr old child with DS and im running into financial difficulty! My work means i have a hugely reduced income from this month for the next few (weather dependant), but i always have a stash of cash built up to see me through. This has been a really **** year due to major staffing issues and a really bad accountant and not only do i have absolutely no money left, i am beginning to accumulate debt. Trying to keep my business alive i have been emptying my personal accounts. We have been living with no heating for a month now (house at 7 to 13 degrees) cos i cant afford to buy oil. Rent due yesterday and i only have £100. HMRC are after £400 cos of the rubbish accountant. Im due a supplier £200. Is there anywhere i can go for temporary help? Even a small unsecured loan (i cant get credit)?

Hi @frogfreak, welcome to the community!
It sounds like you're in a really tough position at the moment. As this seems to be a pressing issue that needs resolving as a matter of urgency, I would recommend giving Scope's helpline a ring at 0808 800 3333 or emailing them instead. Is this something you can do?
Do come back to us and let us know how you get on, and we'll do our best to support you. -
Hello frogfreak and welcome
I am so sorry that you are having difficulties at the moment
I think you really need trained advice from CAB or similar
But first thoughts
you should be able to declare nil income to your local council which could help with rent and council tax
I don't know if any of these will be of use to you

I really hope that some of our members and advisors will be able to offer more and better help
CR
Be all you can be, make every day count. Namaste -
Thank you. I have now got a list of numbers to call thanks to the advisors on the phone number i was given by Pippa!
