Why are disabled people being targeted by this child cap lifted
I saw this woman doctor Renee something who is always on tv. She was very angry about disabled people getting uc. That she dosent see any about or in her surgery, that they should take money away and that would make disabled people go to work. What a heartless woman. I hate for her to be my doctor.
I know people are angry about reeves saving her job and misleading parliament. Scrapping the 2 child cap. But what has that got to do with disabled people?

I feel the same way.
It’s so upsetting.0 -
Nothing. She should be looking at others on UC... Latest figures are nearly 8m on UC of which over 1m are foreign nationals. Though some on UC work including foreign nationals but need a top up. In 2022 it was 5.3m in total on UC. Not to mention currently 3.8m on PIP, up from 2m in 2020 too. I would say it's totally unsustainable now! Poor working taxpayers.... Their wages disappearing due to a Personal Tax Free Allowance of only £12,570… Frozen from 2020 to 2030..… There will be a lot paying 40% tax now too.... A joke really.

I leave them to their anger (easier said than done I know but practice makes perfect 🫠) as the disabled, and chronically ill, always seem to be the target, even often amongst the disabled ironically.
I'd suggest she/colleagues actually gets on with being a doctor. So busy looking at UC figures, she might do better to look at the waiting list figures and stop striking and stop causing harm. I don't see Wes Streeting giving in to their pay demands; maybe that's really where their anger comes from.
If I've learned nothing else this year I've learned for it to be like water off a duck's back/let it go over my head. I prioritise my own wellbeing now in all ways that I can.

I looked up Dr Renee, and if this is the same person (Renee Hoenderkamp), i stopped reading when I saw 'GB News, Talk TV, The Daily Mail'
Opinions are like backsides. Everyone has one…

I agree with your attitude, Santosha, best to leave them to their anger. I laugh at press reports like these because they say far more about the writer’s ignorance than about disabled people.

Just annoyed me, I put it on sometimes for the weather at the weekends, she says in her surgery but she's hardly there I guess, she's on tv . Giving her opinion on everything. But imagine if she was your doctor, I would change surgery

The Doctor is best ignored. But I think we can all agree the current numbers on benefits is astronomical and still increasing. There are obviously going to be changes, hopefully it is progressed properly and the disabled don't suffer. I'm glad I don't work now because I would not be paying that Account Clerk Reeves 40% tax from my wages that is for sure!

40% tax? You weren't rich enough to avoid it, mate.
Paraphrasing Alan Sugar here - If you owe HMRC £1,000 they will chase you to the ends of the earth.
Owe them £1,000,000,000 and they take you out for lunch.

No mate unfortunately. Good one!
I agree, they chase you now for having a little bit of bank interest.....
If I had that money I'd live elsewhere I think.....

I don't think I've seen or heard her. I'm very grateful for that! Small mercies 🥺. I've been out of work (healthcare), gosh it'll be three years in January, so I don't have 'my ear to the ground' anymore but I saw a major change after Covid in attitudes, not from everyone of course but definitely detrimental to patients. Very sad state of affairs.
