A serious and urgent legal challenge and judicial review to this new law in the courts by legal experts is clearly and urgently required in the public interest

I'm so sorry to hear this very sad news. Albus was a real support line to many in this community. He will be missed. RIP Albus.

Let's keep the discussion on the Fraud Bill. I've shared the link before but I'll share it again here
If you are unsure of anything, please just ask. It is easy to misinterpret these things and we don't want anyone worrying unnecessarily.

its confusing about fraud ect with benifits what they are acctually looking at. Are they saying that if they think we arr getting too much paid that we dont need to live/survive that they will reduce payments? I have read it but still not sure what they mean as they dont ever make these things black and white.

@LazyLump they are focusing on those who are committing fraud by making false claims. It mentions overpayments which will refer to when someone's condition has changed and they haven't reported it, therefore leading to them being paid benefits they are not entitled to. It does not mean that they will take money away so you are unable to live.
This is an AI summary of what the DWP can do:
DWP Measures:
- DWP's investigation powers are modernised to address fraud more quickly.
- New powers allow DWP to control investigations into organised crime, including entry, search, and seizure.
- DWP can recover debts from individuals not on benefits or PAYE employment without a court order.
- The Eligibility Verification Measure requires financial institutions to provide data to identify incorrect benefit payments.
- The penalties regime is updated to apply administrative penalties to non-benefit payments and reserve Loss of Benefit for serious fraud cases.
I hope this helps put your mind at ease.

It's people like that that fraud gang from Europe, last year who made false claims resulting in getting thousands of pounds. And people who say they are unable to move properly while being in a gym or paragliding etc seen on a fraud programme. Etc .
