UC Claim seems wrong ...
Hi. I was switched over to UC from Tax credits last year. I am currently also on ESA & PIP as I am disabled. I still live in the house that my ex and I bought together so I have no housing costs for benefit purposes. My youngest son still lives with me and is in further education. My eldest son also still lives with me, but works full time - his girlfriend moved in (2023) and was only supposed to be with us for a year/temporarily as a Uni student but has since graduated and still lives here … When I switched over to UC I am absolutely sure I would have put my son and her down as living here … they were looking at places to rent but the prices were too high, anyway, it now appears that they are not listed as living here on my claim? I spotted this when I received a "check & confirm details" this week. I contacted UC straight away to see if there had been an error - they have responded today and said that only myself and my youngest son have ever been on the claim, so I am pulling my hair out wondering how this has actually happened? They have given me the date I was swapped over to UC as the date for adding my elder son & his gf to the claim. Anyway, my base question is, with no housing elements to consider, will my son and his girlfriend now being "announced" as living here, affect my claim? They both work and they do chip in towards some of the bills but do not pay rent to me. Many Thanks

They won't impact your claim at all.
Even if you were getting Housing Element, if your PIP includes Daily Living that would prevent any non dependant deduction being made to rent help.

Hi @Kimi87 . I had googled this subject to death and still not found a sensible answer so thank you for your reply. I am still really suspicious as to how they are not on the original claim - especially my son, as he has lived with me since we moved here in 2006 lol. Ah well, it's all reported now, so fingers crossed I won't get any more hassle for now. Again, thank you <3
