Hi @autisticluke1998, if you are due for a reassessment they are hoping to get to you a bit sooner. Lots of people on UC haven't had a work capability assessment for a long time. It's unlikely that it will be straight away after April 2026, I believe that's just when some of the other changes for PIP assessments and Universal Credit start coming in. There's a guide to what'll happen next year here: https://www.turn2us.org.uk/get-support/information-for-your-situation/benefit-changes-timetable/benefit-changes-timetable-2026

It'll probably still take them a little while to get through the remaining backlog though so I wouldn't expect them to get round to everyone by April.

Don’t know as my autism level 2 is lifelong and my mum is my appointee. Why would I need to be reassessed if nothing has changed

Unfortunately reassessments are normal if you want to receive benefits from the DWP. Part of the system when claiming.

Even for those of us who won't get any better, they still want to check.

Probably best not to worry about it now if you can @autisticluke1998. But I know that's not easy sometimes!

If your needs haven't changed hopefully all your benefits will stay the same even if you're reassessed. Like Kimi87 said, they just need to check everyone every now and then to make sure things are okay.

Hi, how do they notify you about WCA reassessments? Is it through the post or do we get a message on the UC journal?

It would be a Journal message if you manage your UC account online.

With the Journal, nothing comes through the post it's all done electronically.

@Kimi87 thank-you for your reply. I think I do all my UC stuff via the Journal. Uploading anything they need and any messages I receive comes through there so I guess that would be the method they choose to contact me about reassessment as you say?

If yoy have a Journal then everything gets done via that, nothing comes through the post. All letters are electronic.

Thank-you, this is reassuring 😊 I went to stay with family over Christmas and I got told a letter arrived for me and I’ve been worrying about it. There is nothing new on my UC Journal so I worried a lot about this letter
