I would add not only having spare money, but also keeping/investing in some valuables you can use as trade incase society collapses and money is worthless. Gold, silver and other items are good.

Hi Rubin. I'm not sure how to take your comment, but from what I know of you I think you're being sincere, so I'll respond considering that.
Thank you for suggestion. I'm only preparing for everyday emergencies and catastrophes we're typically experiencing these days. Here's a list from the other thread:
*Pet emergency
*No water
*Isolated at home due to my illness
*Power outage
*House fire
*Mobile phone unavailable
*Internet unavailable
*LAN line unavailable
*Medical emergency
*Psychiatric emergency
*Natural disaster in area, such as fire, flood or storm
*WiFi unavailable
*No heating/cooling
The time period I'm preparing for is one week.
I'm really hoping people will take interest in this here and/or IRL because it's very difficult emotionally and mentally to be doing this alone.

Ahh no worries, and yeah I always have the best interests at heart and was being completley sincere and honestly trying to help.
Have you thought about getting some physical maps you could keep and follow just incase too.
Also use 3 little words, and note down the 3 words associated with where you are, incase you need emergency services and they can pinpoint your exact location.

Aww Kitty's carrier is awesome! I'm so pleased how things are coming along @StarryEyed. It must be a great feeling knowing you've got phase 1 done. 😊

600 Watts, though better than nothing, is not very much - even IF fully charged - do you have solar panels to charge it up ?
You really should try it - because IF there was an emergency and you need it - you will be all fingers and thumbs unless you know what you're doing…..is it charged up now ?

No im intreasted im stockpiling i ordered water purification tablets going get generator monday from argos getting solar panel one going to look for a later like yours now aww love the kitty carrier I never thought of that look for a lantern like yours was meant to write

Sounds a weird one too, but think about mental health and boredom if something happens and have no electricity. So stockpiling on a few quiz magazines, general magazines or books and physical media.

I'm alot better thanks, I'm on a special diet now that I have been sticking too and have these special (horrible) drinks I have everyday to build myself up, but everyday I seem to feel more and more better.
Hope you're doing well.

They taste like a really really overly sweet milky/creamy white chocolate but with a bad aftertaste, I mix strawberry newquick in to take away the aftertaste but its so sickly, it makes me feel queezy after having it and have to have like 1 litre of it a day for a month. 🤮

Oh wow one litre i really hope this month goes quickly for you

Sorry if I sound dim, what's this about, sounds alarming

Hi @rubin16 Yes, you're a total sweetie, so I thought you were being sincere in your question. I have a physical map of my city, but never thought to pack one, so I'll do that. That's in the next phase of supplies, Phase 2. Thank you! What do you mean to have 3 words to pinpoint where I am? Your entertainment ideas are definitely going to be a part of my next phase, Phase 2. Thank you for your ideas!
Hi @Holly_Scope Yes, it's a great feeling to get Phase 1 done. Thank you for your encouragement!
Hi @Wibbles The 600 Watt lamps are actually too bright for me, as I prefer dim lighting. But if I need the whole room lit up (I live in a small apartment), they will do perfectly. I haven't tried the solar panels yet, as they would have to be done on the rooftop as there isn't enough light on my balcony to charge solar panels. Yes, it is fully charged now.
Hi @Catherine21 Have you tried the water purification tablets yet? I've never tried them or even heard of them. In case you or anyone else is interested, here are the kitty carrier and the lamps that I bought:
Hi @Andi66 I am preparing for typical emergencies in six phases. I have just completed phase 1. It is my hope that we can inspire each other here on the forum in our preparation.

@Andi66 also....
@Catherine21 is also preparing for emergencies but in a different way than me. Other than us two, no one else has chimed in to say they're doing it too.

Sorry I mean what 3 words, its another way to locate you or a certain area, every 3 metre squared of the world has been split up and given 3 simple words. Its a good way to locate you or something and emergency services and other services use it.

The solar panelled generator sold out hopefully comes back was a good deal

@rubin16 the three words for a location is a great idea. They're English words so they wouldn't use it in Spain. But it might catch on. Who knows what our future holds.
@Chris75_ I found them - water purification tablets. I'm hoping not to be around if it ever gets to the point of no clean drinking water. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the info! Your reply begs the question what the heck were you doing drinking water with these tablets?
@Catherine21 there definitely will be more coming. Emergency supplies are just flying off the shelves everywhere. It's quite unnerving.
I'm going to a New Year's Eve party tomorrow night and will be doing a quick presentation of my emergency lights collection, in the hopes of inspiring others to get thinking about this. I'll give an electric tealight as a gift to each person. It will hopefully be the first of many presentations on the topic of emergency preparedness. Yeah, my life is so boring that this is actually something that interests me. 😊

It really is unnerving I cannot rest my soul always uneasy oh enjoy your party
