Bank detail change

Hello, I have just tried to change my account details via "make a change" and now Im being told I need to attend a face to face in order to complete this change.

I hardly ever go outside due to crippling anxiety and depression mainly caused by my being autistic and having adhd. I also dont have anyone to attend on my behalf.
Im due to move soon so opened another account with my bank (same bank as I previously used for UC and PIP) to organise and keep my bills and spending separate. I thought it would be easy from seeing the option to change these details online, if I had known I had to go out to complete it, I wouldn't have started the process!

They are now telling me they can't/won't even revert my details back to the original account, so this has triggered me to think I wont get my next payment and will miss paying bills.

I was already in a mess mentally with my upcoming move, now to have this on top has had a bigger impact.

Hi @gspalding83 and a warm welcome to the community from me

You may be able request a phone call or a home visit for this in your UC Journal instead of having a face to face appointment as it would be a reasonable adjustment😊

Thanks Mary, Ive tried to resolve it over the phone as this is what I did for PIP who had no issues doing so. I was told that I had to message on the journal, and was then told either I went to a job centre, or authorised someone to go for me.
I don't have anyone to do this for me and I can't face going outside.

    Hi,

This is a very frustrating aspect of Universal Credit for those of us who are unable to travel. I had exactly the same issue when trying to migrate after being repeatedly told that it was all online so easier to access than ESA.

Eventually I did get someone to go into a Job Centre for me. But I was very reluctant to do it, and I know they may not be able to do it again in future.

I keep hoping that UC will allow an alternative for cases such as ours, though they don't seem to be so far. Do you know anyone at all that could do it, a neighbour or someone who does other tasks that require travelling for example?
