I'm housebound and try to explore the world through what is available online. I take virtual walks, go to the theatre, attend interesting talks etc. Join in if you feel like it, or bring your own virtual day trip/night out recommendations.

My parents like to watch walking tours of London on youtube. Joolz Guide and Tours By Foot are their favourite😊

Those London tours look great @Mary_Scope and they are on the short side, which is always a bonus energy-wise.
I watched a few comedy plays and Agatha Christie stage adaptations. Mostly by amateur theatre groups as those are often available for free on Youtube.

My dad used to fall asleep to a YouTube channel he found which was essantially a bus driver's dashcam. It was somewhere quite rural so was just a video of a sedate drive round the countryside 😃

You have reminded me @MissMarple that i used to like the livestreams from Edinburgh Zoo during COVID! I think they may have had a live stream of the pandas as well during that time!0 -
I like watching Orca Cam, if there's nothing going on in the live feeds, then they have highlights. It's wonderful seeing the humpback whales going through too.
I also look on EarthCams & do tours around America. There's a snowman cam on there & it's brilliant seeing the different wildlife going to the various feeders. Sometimes, bears turn up too!😎

I forgot the panda cams too! The youngters can be hilarious, like crash test dummies! Interesting when it's feeding time for the older youngters.

Such wonderful resources @JessieJ ! I love watching nature and animals in the wild. It's exciting when a squirrel turns up at the bird feeders.
Busy cities have their appeal too. Sometimes I put on Italian opera and watch Venice at night.

I love this idea @MissMarple! I've had a quick look at the village tour in Tihany and it's beautiful. It's such a wonderful things for those who are unable to visit these places to be able to experience them. I'll have a look at your links too @JessieJ. This is definitely going to send me down a rabbithole!

A good thing about virtual trips is that we can travel in time. Tonight I'm taking a summery walk in Yorkshire, visiting Minskip Scarecrow Festival. I can't say I'm any good at recognising the "pop stars", which was the theme of the festival in 2025.
Go to 37:50 for some extra scarecrow fun 😀

What a great thread @MissMarple ! Thanks all sharing the links. Was watching the ISS in the early hours, currently c south of Madagascar and sunrise so can see the oceans soon very clearly as it heads via Western Australia.
Fascinating to watch, I love the live cams and am grateful for the technology that enables us to see it. Too sad to think the harm done to our beautiful planet.
Watching the penguins at Edinburgh Zoo yesterday was just too cute.

Back in the Lockdown months, I used to do my Taekwondo classes on Zoom twice a week, and actually did my grading (which I passed! Yay! Go me!) also on Zoom.
Well it was either train via Zoom or not at all, and the teacher couldn't afford to not run his Biz.

I've come across this gem: a 1981 stage production of Present Laughter, starring Donald Sinden. Watching it bit by bit due to limited energy and thoroughly enjoying it.
