WCA Assessment and changes to rules
Hello. I just had a WCA. At the moment i receive UC LCW with protection from
migrating from ESA WRAG. I was awarded ESA after an assessment at the end
of 2017 and had no contact except statements from the DWP regarding ESA until i moved to another council area and had to migrate to UC IN 2021.
In December 2023 I received a questionaire WCA50. I then got an appointment for July 2024 which had to be rearanged as the appointment letter was sent to the wrong address.
The rearanged assessment was for Feb 2026 which i attended. If i am assessed as not fit for work will everything stay the same? or will the new rules have an effect on my claim. If any of that makes sense.
any insights would be most appreciated.
Thanks for looking. Have a good one.

If you are awarded LCWRA then the higher amount for LCWRA element would apply.
If you receive any Transitional Protection, this would reduce by the LCWRA amount ( currently £423.27, rising to £429.80 next month).
There wouldn't be any backpay as the DWP initiated the review.
If you are awarded LCW again nothing will change.
