I am 31 and live on my own, I have two children who live with their dad and their live 12 miles away. I am registered disabled with physical disabilities. I drive but my car is broken and I'm struggling to afford another little car. I am currently housebound with the exception of getting a taxi to my local shop when I'm able to. Due to me being housebound I'm currently unable to see my children as I cannot travel the 12 miles I see I can drive myself and my ex refuses to bring the children to me. Just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation. I live in the countryside so I have no family or friends around me as most if my friends are onjme. I do receive pip but because I'm on standard rate I'm not entitled to a notability car. Thankyou for reading xx

Hi @Lisajennison, and welcome! It's great to have you here.
I'm so sorry to hear about your current situation, it sounds like you must be feeling really isolated. I'm guessing that public transport isn't suitable for your health needs? It sounds like there isn't a quick fix to your issue, but perhaps you could have a look at this online grants search to see if you're eligible for financial support from any organisations?
I hope today is as kind as possible to you! -
Thankyou xx

Hi lisa and welcome
How long is your current PIP award for ?
With your mobility problems. is it possible that you now might qualify for the enhanced rate ?

I was I got awarded in January this year and have been awarded for five years. I was told if I tell them I've deteriorated I'd have to claim again which might mean I'd lose what I already get so I thought to leave it until I get reviewed again x

There are charitable community transport services in many areas.

Thanks for this suggestion @Markmywords, I'd never heard of it before so I'm just looking into it now...
@Lisajennison, there's a search for local community transport services that might be worth a go? -
Thankyou I will have a look x
