hello. I’m looking for answers, as to why my life has basically been so difficult. I underwent extensive brain surgery with complications long ago. I’d really like to give my children , who weren’t born when I had the surgery , reasons as to why, I didn’t do what thier friends did as a family. Maybe

My brain injury played no part at all. I’m not looking for excuses, just possible reasons as to why I was and still am I suppose, different. Many thank

Hi @joecoult and a warm welcome to the community from me!

Thank you for telling us a bit about your situation, it sounds like you have been through a lot.

Having brain surgery, especially with complication can really change things up in life. It might affect how you do everyday things and that may make family life feel different. Surgery can be tough emotionally too which can also impact your mood or stress levels. It can also often take time to adjust to new ways of doing things which can affect family activities. There are sometimes societal barriers that make it harder for disabled people to join in certain activities as well.

The Brain Charity and Headway are both great organisations that support and offer advice to people with a brain injury so it may be worth exploring their websites or contacting them as they should be able to give more specific info/support
