Welfare deputyship
hi
I am thinking of applying for welfare deputyship for my 15 year old non verbal child who has learning disabilities. So I can make decisions for him in regards to care etc once he’s an adult. But I have heard the court don’t issue these orders unless in severe circumstances.
Anyone had any experiences. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello @saf, I don't know the answer but a very warm welcome to you. Hopefully somebody will come along who can help. With warmest wishes to you.

Hi @saf, this might be a helpful read - Become a deputy | Disability charity Scope UK. If you're concerned about the difficulty, there are some alternatives on this link too which might be a better fit for you.
If you still wish to go through the welfare deputyship, I'd definitely recommend gaining some advice from a legal specialist. Turn2us might be able to support with this.
