I suffer with debilitating osteoarthritis in almost every joint in my body, just waiting on another op to my left thumb, another trapeziectomy :-( 8th Jan, nasty op and a lot of physio but at least it will alleviate the pain for a while.

Hi @karenfielder welcome to the community, I am sorry to hear you are having such a rough time.  Are you getting much support? Have you seen anyone from a specialist pain clinic?

Sorry you have to deal with this @karenfielder.  Constant pain must be horrid to live with and you have my sympathy.
I suffer from inflammatory arthritis, but it only flares every now and then, but when it does flare the pain drives me nuts.  I have found a lot of support from others who understand, through chatting on the Internet to fellow sufferers.  I do hope you find that a help on here too.
Let us know how your operation goes and wishing you a swift recovery and less pain hopefully too.

Yes Sam I have been to pain clinics; Spinal pain classes for my back, knee pain control classes for me knees and many ops on my hands - I don't think that they know what to do with me anymore :-(

Hi. I also have Arthritis. I have it in my both knees, right ankle, left hip and my back now they are saying I have it in my left thumb. They are saying I can either have streiods injection or wear a splint. I know people who have had the operation but it didn't work, so for now I just wear a splint when nessesary.

I did find tht the Trapeziectomy op on my right thumb worked brilliantly - it kept me in my job an extra 6-years before getting retired off early for ill health.  I am due to have the same op on my left thumb on Jan 8th 2018.  Usually if the injections work then the op works; they say if you get no benefit from injections then the op will rarely work.  Good luck with your decision.

Hi I'm new to scope and also have osteoarthritis in all of my joints. I find the constant pain very wearing and depressing and always feel worn out. Simple tasks like taking care of myself and light housework is all I manage and some days struggle to get out of bed. I have a disk desease in my back and so far have had 6 slipped disks. I haven't been to a pain clinic and would like to ask what that entails and does it help

I also have had psoriatic arthritis since 21 and for the last 3 yrs osteoarthritis, my hands are deformed, my back, ankles, knees, toes and elbows are affected, I am on stelara injection, naproxen and co dydramol im also so pxxxxd off with the pain and people mainly family just not understand that it makes me so tired and depressed, this along with diabetes type2. I desperately want to lose some weight but if i. Excercise the pain is worse, and I'm always so stiff, my mobility car was taken when switching from dla to pip so I'm home most days, I would not wish this on my worst enemy
