CAN’T GET TO THE POLLING STATION TO VOTE?

Be quick though. Apply for a proxy vote
You can get someone else to vote on your behalf if you can’t go to the polling station in person.
You’ll need to apply by 5pm on 28 April 2026 to vote by proxy in the 7 May 2026 elections.

    It isn't just Reform who intend to significantly reduce the disability benefit spending bill.

    I'm voting Green, they said at the GE in 2024 that they'd look after the disabled, but then so did Labour back then and look what's happened?!

    Can you honestly imagine, even in your wildest dreams, that the powers that be will allow a PM Polanski? The greens might as well elect Roman Polanski their party leader.

    @luvpink I’m afraid you’re very wrong about that. Reform posted on X the other day that they plan to significantly reduce benefits especially for the disabled. They will also not allow any phone assessments, any benefit assessments for UC or PiP will ALL have to be done in person. They are completely transparent about that. Look it up for yourself. If you vote reform wave goodbye to any benefit.

    @SheffieldMan1976 Labour toiled with the benefits system but for people already on benefits it’s not too much of a change. Labour is definitely getting my vote. Greens have lots of bad policies. Reform doesn’t bear thinking of. Labour gets my vote.

    I am not " very wrong about that" and I would appreciate if you would please not attempt to patronise me by telling me to "look it up" for myself.

    I am fully aware of what Reform have said about their intention to reduce the disability spending bill.

    I have heard their speeches and read their policies.

    What I actually said is that Reform aren't the only political party who intend to significantly reduce the disability benefits spending bill.

    I tend to agree with face to face assessment only, exceptions made on a case by case basis. They trouble me, the assertions made in certain quarters, that young people are perhaps choosing to declare themselves 'disabled', rather than strive for a job.

    And that right there's the crux of the problem, people who clearly aren't, declare themselves disabled purely because they don't wanna work, which leads the right to tar ALL disabled with the "workshy slave to the benefit system" brush (I've been called that both online and to my face in the past)
