I genuinely didn't think it would go the way it has and it has left me feeling quite uneasy

I am very shocked too @Mr_Shoes_Tied! I have only seen the English results so far and it will be interesting to see the if the Welsh results are similar.

I am not surprised at all. People to not think Labour are listening to them.

I am just sorry for the local councillors who work very hard and the national issues seem to have overridden local issues.

Early results, but seems to show turnout is up, so people do want to be listened to. Are Labour prepared to do this? They promised change, where is the change?

Will be interesting to see the final results and what happens in Wales.

I'm thinking most people don't actually read and understand party manifestos 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏼‍♀️ 😔

Hi, I would have voted Liberal if voting in my area. They are the only party who seems honest and fair to all, they understand what it is to be ill or disabled, I dread to think of this country under a Reform leadership. Already people on any form of benefit, including state pensions, are made to feel 2nd class humans. Hounded publicly and made to feel unworthy of any help on offer. I find it all so depressing😔 and wonder what is the point.

I dont think Reform have the answers, and I didnt vote, even though you should, I'll probably never vote again, this country was absolutely, deliberately, destroyed by Blair and Brown and co, and the bankers from 1997 onwards. I watched it unfold, and you can trace every policy decision and change they made, and its extremely obvious that what came before, is directly responsible for what is happening now. New Labour destroyed the country. I dont hate anyone, but i really hate them. Same in the USA. Trump is th result of what happened before Trump. The bankers destroyed the western world with their housing credit bubble, and committed the biggest fraud in history and walked away, centi millionaires, and beknighted.

Because many people seem to have voted based on national policies, in my local groups there is much celebration because all the 'ilegals' will be 'going home'.

Reform won in my area and did not have any policies or local promises at all.

Not sure it matters really, I can be surprised either way. But I don't support Reform

This may be because you are a newer member @Mr_Shoes_Tied. As members post more and interact with others they move up our system which unlocks the ability to edit content for a longer time after posting. There's some more information about the system in our user guides.

Your current level is 'Contributor'. That should mean that you should be able to edit your posts for 15 minutes after you've posted them. The edit function is under the three little dots in a circle in the top right of your posts, covered in the user guide here.

Is your edit function working again now @SwiftFox? Happy to look into it if it's not ☺️

Reform don't have the answers because they don't know the questions! They have no policies other than "stopping the Boats" which they caused in the chuffing first place.

    I was asking @Jenjenjenjen

who stated that "most" people don't actually read or understand party manifestos.

Where is the proof of that?

We didn't get to vote in my area but the people I know are well informed regarding which political party's they vote for

Thankfully Plaid Cymru are the largest party in Wales … Reform second. Labour and Tories totally annihalated

As for Manifesto's … I read them all. Voted Plaid because they care about Wales, my culture and my language, but there are some who think Welsh Nationalism is wrong …

That said, Reform's actually made some sense here … there was no mention of boats or Welfare. Most probably saving that for the GE

And those pesky voters in my country keep voting for the SNP. Yet again, we have a majority voting for independence minded parties- SNP and Scottish Greens. What can we deduce from that I wonder? 🤔

It's funny you should say this - that being Nationalist is nothing to be ashamed of, wanting to protect Welsh culture and language. In my view, it's absolutely ok to feel that way - as a citizen of England I would like to see leadership who are prepared to protect the same here… yet if we voice this, we are seemingly at risk of being labelled racist 😥 . I don't worry about race though - it's culture that has the power to affect communities positively or otherwise. I don't have trust in any political party - the whole system seems so corrupt
