    hi I have recently been awarded pip had a text on Wednesday so I logged into the proof of benefits page and was able to see the back pay and the date it will be paid. I have tried to login again yesterday and today and it is saying this message on the check payments tab “Sorry, the service is unavailable

    You cannot use this service right now.

    Try again in a few hours.”


    I am able to view the award letter. Has anyone experienced this or know why it would be happening? I haven’t received the back pay yet as it stated 26th May on the payments tab when I was able to view it.

    Hi welcome to the community.

    Its quite possible that the proof of benefits page has closed due the Bank holiday weekend.

    If you do online banking you could check if the payment is due but you say its due on 26th so that should be the case.

    As @luvpink says, it's a Bank Holiday weekend, the DWP Helplines'll be shut till at least Tuesday.
