Working from home as reasonable adjustment when you're looking for work

Hi all, I am completely housebound due to ME/CFS. I can maybe go to the dentist once a year, but that's it. Due to a redundancy I'm also out of work and I don't know how to find a new job. I have several years of experience as software engineer - a job that can easily be done remotely, but so many employers ask upfront if I can commit to 2-3 days in the office. I feel like 99% of the job market is off limits because it's hybrid and applying to only 1% of jobs isn't enough. How do I navigate this situation? Should I lie in the recruiter screen? Many companies now also do face-to-face interviews so I need to tell them about reasonable adjustments before I even get to the offer stage. That being said I've only had 3 interviews so far out of 100 applications so maybe the gap in my CV is already working against me.

I'm so annoyed because I'm only physically affected and I could easily hold down a full-time job yet the hybrid set up is unintentionally ableist and I will be housebound for the foreseeable future.

the hybrid setup it's not unintentionally ableist. it is ableist, as it's designed to homogenise the workforce.

your best option is to exclusively apply for fully remote jobs. It's an employer's market, and if you apply fo anything hybrid, they'll just ghost you once you tell them your disabilties before selecting someone else.

Also start the process for claiming UC and other benefits if you're eligible. There's an economic crash coming; you'll likely be out of work till next year. 3 interviews out of 100 is perfectly normal, sadly.
