New PIP award - motability car question
Hi, my adult daughter who lives at home with us has just been awarded both mobility and care and this was backdated to October 2024 (this is how long it took them to complete the process) but is due to end in May 2027. She was hoping to get a car as she has significant disabilities for her mobility needs but the letter and award leaves just under 12 months remaining. Does that mean she cannot obtain a car until this is all reviewed again next year when her award will be reviewed? Very frustrating. Tia

I believe one only need have 6 months left, in order to take out a Motability lease.

Thanks for that. We had conflicting answers locally and ended up calling Motability and they confirm that we must have 12 months for a new application. So frustrating after waiting 19 months already.
