I have often wondered why people dress the way they do. So thought I would ask here.

I tend not to wear formal shirts and ties and stuff because I can't do the buttons or fasten a tie.

Although I did manage to do both when we went to Harry Potter World the other week.

I like to be comfortable but also to look nice. My mood is affected by what I wear so I try not to wear pyjamas unless it's almost time for bed, and although I work from home I always dress for work. Nothing formal or anything though!

I choose clothes for convenience more than anything else. So clothes that make it easiest to use the toilet and wash dishes etc. Can't stand having to remove and refit hundreds of layers every time I use the loo, or sleeves hanging in the washing up bowl, for example.

Second after convenience would be comfort. I would like to look 'nice' if I was going out, but I never go out now, and looking nice tends to be uncomfortable and/or inconvenient. I don't look in mirrors at home so don't think it really affects my mood.

Only disadvantage of wearing some of my cosplay costumes is having to part undress to use the Loo, and take the cape off.

I absolutely LOVE clothes. I love looking nice, makes me feel more confident.

More recently I've declined. I know this is how I feel inside. So I'd say for me it's an outward display of how I'm feeling.

Sadly, all the lovely clothes I have are unworn now. I dream of the time when I feel happy inside again, then the clothes will be happy.

Sounds like you need to go clothes shopping dear, maybe a complete pamper session/makeover.

I only have tracksuit bottoms, t shirts and a few cheap jumpers. Style has no part in my life these days.

I suffer from Allodynia ( where gentle touch/ friction - causes pain) so I used to be a shirt and jeans person, now I'm light t-shirts and shorts. Linen has been a godsend. Around the house I wear tshirts that are see through from being washed so much … out and about I still like smart casual

Quite often found in my natural habitat in just boxers … scared a few delivery drivers 😏

I love clothes too @justsaying2025 and they definetly make me feel like me when I am wearing the right ones! I hope you're able to find your happiness again.

If I leave the house then I do put quite a lot of thought and effort into my outfits because it does make me feel confident and I do like how I feel when I have a nice outfit on😊

But, if I am at home then I really don't care what I am wearing and will pick comfort over anything else🤣

Love a good linen shirt @WelshBlue, especially in the recent hot weather! Ha, I reckon the delivery drivers must be used to situations like that!

Since I became disabled, it's been all about comfort. Before, it was 95% comfort while trying to look somewhat presentable at work.

It is who I am and no one cannot change that, everyone is different in a good way
