hi all I’ve seen an update recently saying they have nearly cleared a backlog and reassessments will start again from April I’m so worried I have autism level 2 I just keep thinking I’m going to be reassessed straight away it’s making me have panic attacks and I hate it someone please tell me what is going on at moment for reassessments

    Hi @autisticluke1998 I know it's easier to said that done but please try not to worry as there is still really big backlog of assessments needing to be done😊

    There was an article on the Benefits And Work site yesterday about the backlog being almost cleared.

    I’m in a panic, I received a message in journal asking to check details of claim and was told this was routine, the operator then checked my LCWRA status and said it had expired and that he would need a case manager to cast an eye over it to check for reassessment, for record I have scitzoaffective disorder, I am now in a massive state of panic that they are going to reassess me and force me to look for work and cut my money, I have just had my pip renewed and have recent evidence from health professionals, in such a state now, I was lead to believe reassessments were paused, this is causing massive anxiety for me now

    Hi @kingston, bless you - that's completely understandable as it's caught you by surprise but it's a bit of a good thing you've got that recent evidence from your health professionals handy and the fact you've recently had another review puts you in a good starting position if it were to require a reassessment.

    I know it's easy for me to say, but please try not to worry too much for now. If you can find something that helps distract you for a bit, try to focus on that. Something that makes you happy, even if it's small. 😊

    aren’t reassessments paused at the moment? Mods on Reddit says they’ve been paused and that there are massive backlogs?

    Hi @kingston. They're not necessarily paused, but there's a huge backlog at the moment so reassessments aren't the priority right now which means there'll be a delay in getting a reassessment. Please try not to worry.
