LCWRA Assessment finally - what to expect?

Hi all - I finally have a date (24 June) for the assessment and I am unsure of what to expect or how to prepare.

Firstly, I have only filled in the forms they have sent and not provided them with information, should I be providing them with information like PIP award, or do they already have this? Shall I get a further doctor letter?

I don't really have anyone to go with me, and I have Autism, should I take someone? Because it might affect the outcome?

How long will it take from 24 June?

Thanks for any help!

    Hi,

The LCWRA descriptors are quite different to PIP descriptors. They won't have a copy of your PIP award because it wouldn't be of much use for a LCWRA assessment.

Doctors letters also aren't ideal. Do you have a copy of the Autism diagnosis? That might be of some help for LCWRA. Also if you see any other health professionals regularly, they are likely to be of more help than a GP.

Taking someone is really your decision. If you generally manage alone then there's no need to take someone. If you expect to get flustered or confused or upset then taking someone might be a good idea. I would focus far more on the answers and evidence changing the outcome, than whether or not you take another person.
