Taking a little break
Hi all. My life has become unmanageable and my presence here and IRL has become too difficult to manage in a healthy way. So I'm taking a break from here and almost everyone IRL. I'm more of a liability than of help to myself or others. I adore you guys and will be back ASAP, when more centred and pleasant, aiming for at least two weeks, which will feel like an eternity given that I post almost every day.
Take care of yourselves. β€οΈ

Take care of yourself @StarryEyed I am sorry you are finding things difficult and hope you soon feel a bit better.
You will be missed.

StarryEyed, and we adore YOU! I can't always keep up with the long posts but you are always kind, considerate and sincere. Not everyone has that skill.
We all misinterpret words and messages, especially when there are language barriers we may not be aware of. Even our American cousins don't 'get' the British humour at times! Some people hold grudges when there's no need to but on a disability forum, please assume we are more forgiving. How you navigated those bumps teaches us how to handle conflict and you did that well. It probably feels worse to you than it really was.
Sharing your cancer journey in pictures yesterday will have left you feeling exposed and depleted, understandably. Don't banish yourself as punishment but take a break because you need and deserve one πΉ

@StarryEyed To me you're a Superheroine having survived the big C, you just need a cape and costume.

Take your time, Starry! But I wanted to emphasize there is absolutely no need to be 'pleasant' to be a lovely fellow human being. I am saying this as much to myself as I am to you, and everyone else who needs this.
May you be well, may you find your feet, may you find ease - with a big hug.

Oh you guys melt my heart!!! It's only been two weeks away, but it feels like months! That's true love, me thinks. ππ₯° Yes, I've addressed everything by hunkering down - isolating and focusing on the issues (lots of family crises, financial challenges and housing issues). Of course, life crises = mental health crisis. And mental health crisis = life crises. So I was in a spiral. But I'm grounded now by having addressed both the life crises and mental health crisis. Things are now at a slow boil. Forward march. Makes me think of this adorable clip of a little kid representing the famous line "the show must go on." π

It's so good to have you back @StarryEyed! I'm glad you've managed to address the crises and you feel more grounded. Have you managed to do anything nice for yourself while you've been away?

Hi @Rachel_Scope and thank you. Yes, indeed I did do some nice things for myself. I do a combo in crisis of putting attention into dealing with the crisis as well as fueling up. For fuelling up, I finished a fabulous book (Black Like Me) and started another (Long Walk to Freedom), watched some really great movies, made some fabulous jewellery for donations, allowed myself to fall apart, listened to a lot of music, worked on my emergency preparedness project (I'm doing a presentation for friends tomorrow) and talked a lot to Angel (my kitty). π I wonder what you and others here like to do for fueling up?

Check out the liminal space pics thread StarryEyed, there's been some pretty cool posts in there while you've been away.

I will tomorrow, @Ross1975. Just winding down for the night now. Thanks for the heads up. It's good to be back in the fold here. β€οΈ See you tomorrow ππΌ

You'll have to let us know how the emergency preparedness presentation goes @StarryEyed.
It sounds like you've been up to lots of great things, in between letting yourself fall apart, which I think is important to do sometimes. I admire you for managing to do so many things when you're struggling and it's made me think about how I would 'fuel up'. I've never really thought about it before and I think I can get into bad and lazy habits when really I would feel better doing something more creative, for example. I'm going to have a think and get back to you.
Look forward to seeing you in our liminal space soon!
