I was toying with a fishing net but settled for the hammock. Probably not the wisest decision π Guessing the saw and nails is to build shelter etc? And i bet yours would be fantastic as well based on your skillset!

Makes me think we should be able to get our own power if we add a bicycle to that and we take it in turns. You know, a bit like MacGyver or the A-team building their own stuff depending on their needs.

I remember the days of living on forestry sites for 5 days with no shower facilities just water and a wash down β¦ I think fish would be a summers fabreze compared to 1pm on a Friday π

When you mentioned five days, I assumed you were felling trees somewhere far from the comforts of civilization. Brazil and Russia are well-known locations for industrial logging far from populated areas.

Nah if only. The Southern Urals would have been an interesting prospect many moons ago. The furthest I got was Suffolk after the storms of '87
We stayed in caravans because it was either travel 6 hours there and home or use the time to earn. Plus no matter how far you are off the beaten track, the underbelly will find you and steal anything and everything, so it was for security too

I'd take a solar charger, my tablet loaded with music and a big speaker. Nobody telling me to turn my music down β¦

The Southern Urals are an interesting place you've chosen. There are mountains, forests, lakes, and probably some hunting opportunities.
Meteorites sometimes strike.
It's probably possible to find a small uninhabited island on some lake.
