Hi @yellowpineapple84 it was a great game for Cape Verde and I am so glad they got a point.
There goal keeper was amazing, I enjoyed watching this match.

Yesterday was obviously a day of brilliant draws! Every match ended in a draw, all good - or sometimes great - games.
I found it all strangely very satisfying. π

Love a good score draw and in the Spain/Cape Verde match one team's performance more than made up for the nil-nil.
Did anyone catch the Iran and New Zealand game?

Oh, and someone please find the thousands of dollars necessary (visa charge) to enable the Cape Verde goalkeeper's mum to attend his next two games! It's a refundable deposit for goodness sake, just do it.

Fully agree with this. That part of the story made me quite sad!

This evening we have:
8pm (BST): France (@wrighty08) v Senegal (@Geoffers58)
11pm (BST): Iraq (@MandyD1967) v Norway (@andrewkuk)
2am (BST): Argentina (@Hope64 and @Alisonjaneg) v Algeria (@Gorblimey)
5am (BST): Austria (@FloridaDino) v Jordan (@Mary_Scope and @rulocal)
What do you think we can expect? More draws? Any big wins? Any shocks?

Hi everyone, I really enjoyed the Iran - NZ game, that was so fun. Iβm really enjoying this World Cup, the last three or four I found quite boring. So many teams in this World Cup are actually going for it, passing forwards and running forwards quickly which is so great to see. The other tournaments I remember a lot of sideways and slow football as though the teams were playing to avoid defeat rather than try to win a game. This has been really refreshing. Even Swedenβs manager has got on board with the spirit of things and got his team passing forwards!

I think France win, Norway win, Argentina draw and Austria win :)

I'm the same, some of the matches have been excellent and there have been a number of unexpected results. I'm really looking forward to England tomorrow but weirdly, I think because I care about the outcome more, I enjoy watching the match less

i saw the end of Cape Verdeβs game against Spain and I think they worked harder in those last 10 minutes than I think Iβve worked on anything in my life

Glad youβre enjoying it too :) I really really hope England play like Japan or the way CIV and Ecuador played the other night. Bypass the midfield and just get it up there! Although I am predicting England to get beat by Croatia sadly and I think it will be a dull game from both sides

Loving the world cup participation badge given this afternoon! Makes my badges look a lot more colourful!!! π

Yeah, can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching England when playing a competitive match and not just because their playing style under Southgate was oftentimes sluggish and dull.
I still think we'll win. They're not the Croatia team of old, even if half the squad have been around since I was a teenager! π

I must admit, I much prefer watching the women's England team than the men's England Team, and not just because they win often. The men's team seems to retreat a lot, whether winning or losing. The Lionesses just keep on going whatever!
Fingers crossed that under Tuchel this men's team will not make me cower behind a cushion for half the match tomorrow! π

I hope that there are a lot of Senegal supporters in the stadium tonight, as they are great. They danced pretty much all the way through games in the last WC. πΈπ³ πΈπ³ π₯³ π

I am hoping Senegal hold France to a draw. Unlikely I know, but the African football style seems to be upsetting the Europeans so lets see.
