pip tribunal CAB can no longer represent my son - do I give up?
Hi, my son (20)has a left sided hemiplegia since birth. he has his struggles like most people but he has a positive outlook on life . He has Pip currently daily living enhance rate and mobility standard rate . He used to have enhanced mobility but that has been taken away .I have been helping him to get back the enhanced .I went to my local citizen advice and they helped for mandatory reconsideration and tribunal .The citizen advice has just emailed me and said they can no longer represent my son .This Is because the trust they were working with has finished .They have suggested other places however they all come back to citizen advice . I'm now stuck as what to do .do I keep fighting ?or shall I give up? this is so hard as he has cerebral palsy which he will have for life its not going away .

Hello @carolynw, you absolutely do not need a representative with you at tribunal. I understand why some people choose to have one, but it isn't a court, and you and your son can appeal to the tribunal yourselves.
What stage are you currently at? Did your local Citizens Advice provide any information or help you prepare for the tribunal that you can continue to use?
If you know which points you believe your son should have scored and can provide evidence showing how he meets the criteria, keep fighting for it. If you're unsure, feel free to share the points your son was awarded for mobility, and we can probably help explain what would be needed to qualify for the enhanced rate.

Hi @carolynw, I'm sorry that they're no longer able to represent your son. As Emilee has said, you don't need a representative if you feel you're able to do it yourself. Here's some information about the tribunal process which includes advocates and supporters if you'd feel more comfortable having some support .
As Emilee has said, we can help you with whatever you're unsure of.
