I had to look it up in case I was misremembering, but Burger King posted a very ill-thought-out tweet for International Women's Day in 2021 that said, "Women belong in the kitchen."
It was quickly followed by a second tweet saying, "If they want to, of course," but the message didn't land well.
In their defence, they were apparently trying to highlight that only 20% of professional chefs in the UK were women but it backfired a little…

I used to have a Yorkie at every lunchtime at highschool and I remember being so offended by that advert that I stopped buying them! No idea what they were thinking.

I remember the Superman ads starring a baddie called Nick O' Teen.
They were smoking ads, which nearly 50 years later would be HIGHLY illegal.

I won't post it here, but does anyone remember the MasterCard advert ? A young boy and girl by the front door and the family can hear everything said through the intercom
