    Brexit was won on lies and nothing promised was delivered, it just opened the door for the current proposals.

    I don't think I've seen evidence of one single positive outcome as a direct result of Brexit. In fact even the 'boat issue' was created because of Brexit.

    Democracy works as democracy works.

    If someone didn't want Brexit then they should have voted Remain and had the opportunity to do so.

    Nit picking over the numbers because you disagree with the result isn't exactly fair.

    I was horrified to see Reform gain control of my local council, but accept that is the democratic result.

    I don't disagree but don't like the opposite narrative being pushed either or claims that most the population wanted it which is why I commented as it felt quite one sided, sorry 😔

    Remain put out some questionable stuff too - I personally disregarded aspects of the campaign on both sides because I thought it was nonsense.

    Plenty of people are happy with Brexit and would vote for it again. It wasn't won on 'lies'. There's something much deeper than that which is potentially more concerning, for me at least.

    It's about 'sovereignty'. Not specifically about boats or even immigrants. It's about a feeling of being British instead of being part of a larger European community. The same is true for the 'green agenda'. The people that are against it actually aren't interested in the world as a whole, just the tiny corner of it where they live. Once I realised that's how their minds are working, there's really no point in trying to change that. (Of course, it's also possible that my global view is wrong, and they are right about being more selfish and focused only on their immediate area).

    Strictly speaking that’s true, but in any ballot you only have choices on the paper, abstaining or staying home is historically and legally a choice to let the active voters decide for you, it's impossible to assume those who didn't show up would have collectively blocked it, they just simply chose not to take a side.

    The BBC mentioned a report by Stanford University economists, using Bank Of England data, and it concluded the UK had taken a 6-8% hit due to Brexit.
