Hi @nickh. Are they going into any approved training instead? The rules state:
- in full time non-advanced education like GCSEs, A levels, T levels, Scottish Highers, SVQs or NVQs up to level 3
- doing an approved training course that is unpaid and not part of a job contract
So if they are not moving in to approved training, you would lose the child element of your UC unfortunately. You would need to do a change of circumstances.
If you're concerned about money, you could try a Benefits calculator to see if you're claiming everything you're entitled to. I'm sorry it's not better news.

Which other deductions are on your UC claim?
£283 payment is much less than £1390 minus NS ESA alone.
