Just wondering which organisation I should report an inaccessible venue to.

The reasonable adjustments they have said that they will provide still put me at a disadvantage when compared to non disabled people

Hi @jw93 and welcome to the community. I'm really sorry that the venue was inaccessible to you. Here's some information about the steps you should take https://www.scope.org.uk/advice-and-support/disability-discrimination-by-private-and-public-service-providers

    Yes.

So I tried to talk about how the lighting was too low for someone with visual impairments which I have.

They have said that that is an artistic decision by the event organiser.

They have now come back and said that as a reasonable adjustment they can have a staff member **** me to and from the toilet but it's my understanding that because it forms another barrier it's unlawful discrimination

Is it essential that you attend this event? It sounds like a reasonable adjustment to me (assuming that the loos are lit).

Few adjustments are ever made for my visual impairments which include severe light-sensitivity. That venue might be ideal for me, depending on noise volumes and other factors. I'm unable to partake in most indoor activities for completely different reasons but I don't call it discrimination.

I went to a Comic Con in Leeds yesterday at a fairly posh Hotel, yet for some reason, everything was upstairs and there was NO lifts! Not very disabilty friendly is it?

Did you manage to enjoy yourself in spite of the issues?

    What costume did you wear?

    The Shadow.

And to be honest I didn't really enjoy it as much as other ones.
