Powered wheelchair advice

I'm looking for companies in the SE that will give advice on which powered wheelchairs to try, bearing in mind my living conditions, seating needs and intended use. So far I've found Recare and Gerald Simonds, does anyone know of any other companies?

It’s definitely worth getting an assessment that looks at the whole picture rather than choosing a chair based purely on the specification. Things like turning space at home, door widths, seating and postural requirements, outdoor surfaces, transport, and how you intend to use the chair can all make a big difference.

I’d also ask whether the company offers practical trials in your own home and usual environments, as a chair that works well in a showroom may not necessarily work in your living space.

Recare and Gerald Simonds are good places to start. I’d also consider asking your local wheelchair service or an OT about independent assessments, as they may be able to recommend providers who can look at both your seating needs and the environment rather than simply selling a particular model.

Hope you find somewhere that gives you a proper assessment and lets you try a few suitable options before making a decision.

Thanks for your thoughts! The wheelchair service have said they can fit my seating to any number of private wheelchairs, so that's one thing solved (once I get it).
