I'm not sure, but I know what you mean, pink does seem to have more of a liminal feeling than any other colour, especially pink bathrooms.
I tried out our ideas with a couple of different Ai's, but they didn't really turn out looking any more liminal.
Here's your idea, low lighting and more saturated.
And then mine, camera flash and lower quality.
But then with a different Ai, I tried a combination of both ideas but with most of them toned down (low lighting, a little saturated, subtle camera flash, quality a bit lower) and it actually looks more liminal now.

The last one is perfect! We make a good liminal team 😉 I wonder what the balls on top of the tvs are supposed to be? I see them as some form of mind control but for the tv.

Rachel_Scope, I've certainly noticed them but never thought of what they might be. Mind control is a good one. Or perhaps they broadcast a persons thoughts on the TV screen?

That would be scary! Maybe everyone has to think positive thoughts all the time like that Twilight Zone episode with the boy who could mind read.

Play Dough Man in The Backrooms.
I wanted him to look sinister and unsettling like how he looked in the picture StarryEyed uploaded, but the Ai was finding that difficult to do for some reason, so he turned out the opposite, oh well.

He has a message.

That's so creepy. I don't like the idea that I'll turn into plasticine!
