Disabled hate crime

Hi my name is Daniel white on the 12th of July me my partner have been the victims disability hate crime by neighbour's its been recorded on southyorkshire police system and sheffield city council has disability hate crime and we applied for medical priority put a social worker letter in saying our current 2 bedroom house is unsuitable because it's making my mental health conditions worse and also put in victims support letter will l be awarded medical priority l have a learning disability adhd asthma epilepsy mental health conditions me and my partner are classed has severely disabled and vulnerable council tenants

    Hi @DANNYWHITE84, sorry to hear what you've been going through with your neighbour. How are you getting on with your housing? Have you managed to speak to the council? Hopefully they can tell you whether you'd have priority.

    Hi update on our medical priority case sheffield city council turned us down for medical priority they are saying its ASB and it's not it's on police system has disability hate my learning disability team are not interested in helping shelter are not able to help citizens advice can never get threw 111 services are shocking social worker did a letter saying our home is unsuitable because its making our mental health worse each day we are stuck in a home we are not happy in our lives on hold any advice please

    I'm so sorry it hasn't been resolved @DANNYWHITE84. I'm glad that your social worker has written a letter. Has this been sent to the council?

    Do you have any mental health support in place while you are dealing with this? Has there been any more abuse against you?

    No mental health support for me and my partner who are classed has severely disabled council tenants with complex needs l a full time carer for my partner shelter said they can't help citizens advice brueau are in possible to get hold off my learning disability team are not interested gp are not bothered got my mp involved sheffield city council shouldn't be aloud to get away with this

    Me and my partner have been threatened loads of times by the neighbours with them saying best thing you can do is move out or we will force you out its on police system has disability hate crime and sheffield city council system but they are treating it has ASB l keep hitting ADHD burn out trying to deal with all of this

    So your MP is already involved? That's great news. Have they been in touch with the council?

    Hi l have made 3 complaints with sheffield city council and nobody got back to me l spoken to my neighbourhood officer who has said the is no further assessment to be done has she is treating it has ASB when it's not it's disability hate crime case health and housing sent our medical priority to our local housing officer for further assessment but she has said the above my local mp is involved and sent my email to the cheif executive of the council so just waiting to hear back if they still don't over turn it the decision then we are stuck in this property for good with our lives on hold and our mental health been made worse stuck in a property we don't like and feels like we are stuck in prison

    I'm so sorry they are treating you this way. I'm hopeful that your MP will get a response and I hope it's soon. You can still request to be moved, you just might have a longer wait if they don't class this incident as a disability hate crime.     I just waiting to see what outcome the mp does my next step is housing Ombudsman and legal action against them for causing great alarm and distress to a severely disabled person with learning disabilities and adhd l also got disability sheffield helping me for a couple of weeks to do a appeals letter l not giving up this fight one bit it's a legal what they are doing l will keep you posted with any updates
