PIP REVIEW WAIT TIME?
Hi I've already written another post on my review, reasoning was change of circumstances. Sent the form off on the 4th of August 26 and received a text on the 7th to say form received. My partner rang today to get an update and to update of a higher strength medication being added, they have said that the form as been assigned to an assessor, so I'm asking if anyone on here, as similar and wait time to be expected from them being assigned, I've been so stressed since I've done the form and can't help think was it worth it for all the stress

Hi @Manicman81. Unfortunately there are no standard waiting times. It can vary quite a lot. It's such a stressful time and lots of our members will be able to empathise with that.

@Manicman81 I returned my review form early feb this year,my previous pip award ended this week ,I've had four texts after the initial "we have received your form back" text, all saying same thing, its being "progressed".
Well, you can imagine my panic and anxiety, depression, stress, I'm jumping out of my skin at every sound, if the phone rings I feel sick, I rarely get phone calls, so I'm even more jumpy these past months, I actually have been in overdrive almost two years now knowing the review was due. I feel so alone in my worry. There's nothing in this world apart from losing a loved one or a loved dog that makes my disabilities 100% worse than dealing with these people. The pain, fatigue, panic attacks, lack of restful sleep increase and stay at a level,i even feel it exacerbates my asthma, i can barely cope with it all,I'm already living an existence like many of us,its not a life. Hope all will be well for you I truly mean that. Nobody deserves this hanging over them when we've so much to contend with daily. Take care.

I'm sorry the wait is making you feel this way @Doglover2. It really is an awful process to go through. Do you have any support at home?

@Rachel_Scope I try not to talk about it because they don't really understand, they do to a point, they get the stress and worry ,but i don't want to repeatedly go on about it, a friend who I only see about once a year said to call pip and ask where my claim is in the system, but I'm ,in all honesty, too terrified to deal with doing that. I thought I'd at least got a letter to say they were extending pip until it was sorted, but apart from the last text a month ago I've had nothing.

@Doglover2 I feel your pain i really do, it's an horrible system to go through it all the time, and with the extra worry with it all, is more than enough to push anyone close to the edge. It's only been 7 week's in total since my review form was sent back and received by them and the 2 texts to say received and the other to say it's with the health assessment department, this was requested by myself to update of new conditions, my review was supposed to be untill 2031, but I was on the standard rate, which I have been for year's, even though I knew I should have been on the higher rate and standard mobility at the time, I couldn't bring myself to go through all this process because it drives me insane. I hope this is all sorted for you ASAP. Losing someone or a pet whilst going through this process is horrendous, I'm still in the middle of grieving the loss of my 36yr old brother who took his own life last match, my 2nd to suicide, MH seems to affect all the boys in my family, and having to do this does affect you alot more than it should, the system is shocking, should be alot more correspondence from them, or someone keeping you informed with some sort of compassion

I agree the system is apalling and not fit for purpose anymore. Is this the longest wait ever for a Review. Oct 2025 to present and still not resolved . I have had no replies or communication from them at all. I cared for my husband for 10 years ( 2 heart attacks and 5 strokes until i couldn't and he had to go into a Care Home on 8/10/25. I wrote and as expected this started a Review. Its not a Nursing Home and he is part funded by LA so i was advised high mobility would continue but care would stop. They stopped all payments early Nov and during a very emotional time i also had financial distress. I have phoned and written every month sent my evidence of funding to be told waiting replies from Care Home or LA and its in a queue for Decision Maker. A formal complaint letter got no answer. In desperation i contacted my MP who wrote 27/8 and has not got a reply either. He is now escalating his enquiry to a stage 2. I was advised that PIP MP Complaint dept is so overwhelmed with letters and are not meeting the 20 day target to answer. They just dont care at all about the distress this causes.
